I think people's issue with Galadriel is the order she was released. We have mega-death orcs and classic characters, and then Galadriel. It just seems like something to be made later in the line after other characters were presented. I imagine a decent painter could fix the entire head paint job very cheaply.

Galadriel is a really nice Premium Format figure, and adds some depth to the line. I hope the line lasts long enough to get an Arwen as well. The lips are too red, but I think the flesh tone is pretty nicely done. If her lips were a little more pink/coral/neutral in color, I don't think anyone would have an issue. The skin tone is tough to lock down as so much of the films were color corrected, so it can vary quite wildly.

I told my wife she needed to talk me out of ordering a second gollum/smeagol PF, and after she looked at pictures this morning, she told me she can totally understand why I would want two...She's supposed to be the voice of reason!!!

Cool! I won a Galadriel PF in the chat. Looking forward to getting it and reviewing it. Its a nice looking piece.

Gollum is one of those PF's you almost have to have two. So I can see why you're wanting two and if the wife is giving you the green light then do it.

cstojano, 600 is a lot of bread to drop at once. I was thinking about using their flexpay for a second one, but I keep vacillating. The two versions can make a nice "bookend" to the PF collection, but I also would love to throw that money at another PF or maquette (or better still, the one Legendary Scale bust I missed out on, the Cave Troll.)

I think Galadriel looks better without the hood on, it is hard (at least for me) to get it to lay just right.

Thank ya! I think they had a proto at SDCC a couple years ago. It looked very nice. I saw Rumi's in person and it looked good as a production piece. The Costuming is quite well done.

Congratulations Galadriel is a very well costumed piece. The lip thing isn't as bad as it looks and can be sorted, the only other problem I had with it was the fingertips looked 'blobby'. Well done again.

I have seen this question a few times in this thread.

I for one think Galadriel has been givin a bad wrap.

The only true issue is that her lips are red/maroon in color. They should be natural or neutral in color. However, in person the lips are not as bad as photos suggest.

The rest of the statue (sculpt, paint, clothing, etc) is just as good if not better than some of the other PF's in this line.

I am very happy to have this in my collection.

So after looking at the Gollum PF I've decided that there's really only one thing I wish was different. I would have preferred if he WAS NOT holding the ring in the Gollum pose. This way it could have reflected the Cirith Ungol scene at the top of the stairs while the one holding the ring would have represented the scene from Mount Doom.

Thirded. Gollum should not have the ring, but the Smeagol/Happy Gollum version should. Perhaps it is magnetic (it does look metallic) and we can remove it should we want.

I agree there..Sideshow did confirm in a Q/A awhile ago that an Arwen PF would be coming!!!

Galadriel is the only LOTR PF I don't have so far...I need to get that one soon...

So after looking at the Gollum PF I've decided that there's really only one thing I wish was different. I would have preferred if he WAS NOT holding the ring in the Gollum pose. Gollum holding the ring isn't necessary, but it is still somewhat screen accurate so it doesn't bother me. He was still pretty pissed after biting off Frodo's finger, and having the ring back didn't seem to register until after Frodo had staggered off a good 10 feet or so and he had fallen to the ground. I think the Gollum sculpt pretty accurately portrays the look and overall demeanor of Gollum in the screencap below.

So you are interpreting this as a Mt Doom, microvariation alternative sculpt as well. They always manage to keep us thinking and guessing don't they. I do think the alt base of the lava pool would be absolutely perfect.

Absolutely. Given that there is only one base [for the statue itself] and that both aspects of Gollum's personality were revealed within a matter of seconds in that particular scene [Mt. Doom] it's the only thing that make sense.

I'm surprised he didnt sell out right away. 500 ES isnt that big. I guess, the deposit may be turning some people off? I'm loving the figure so far, great base. I ordered 2 as well so i can display side by side.

Would LOVE to take credit for this one...but someone over at S&F posted a theory on what the second base will be:

"One assumes it would be the lava, which would fit with just having the top half holding the ring."

Sounds VERY reasonable AND likely to me.

Thanks, that was my theory. Given his lower half is missing, it just seems to make total sense. Time will tell.
