Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

What was that line about project Tahiti was for just incase a fallen Avenger, and Fury said "exactly".

He meant he sees Coulson as an Avenger because he used the process to bring an Avenger back to life, on him (Coulson).

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Man, I LOVED the finale!

I found it incredibly satisfying:

Ward/May fight. I think Arrow still has the best action scenes on TV, but SHIELD has definitely kicked it up a notch. Brutal, and so great to see May kick his ass. Speaking of Ward, glad he was in full villain mode. No redemption arc, please. If he comes back next season as a reoccurring villain, I'm all for it.

Fitz/Simmons - Absolutely heartbreaking. Just totally, totally heartbreaking. I am intrigued to see where they go with this. I think it'll be an interesting journey for Fitz to deal with wherever he is now. I hope he's still on the team in some capacity. This scene was just so beautifully done. In the past I'd kind of railed against turning their bond into a romance. But it was totally worth it for this scene.

Deathlok/Garrett VS Fury/Coulson - I thought this was amazing. Now, here's where the writer's have to write around the budget a bit. We got all kinds of action this episode, but neither Garrett nor Deathlok really cut loose with their powers. I'm okay with that. We get glimmers of it. Garrett flinging Coulson across the room, for one. But it was fun, none the less. Also, the reappearance of the Destroyer gun was a fun call-back. Though, if I were Coulson, I might have gone for the biggest targets in the room instead of the foot soldiers? This also could have been staged with a bit more energy, menace. It was a little unclear why the soldiers didn't just rush Coulson immediately. But, I have to say I really enjoyed the solution, here. Skye freeing Deathlok's sun to turn hi against Garrett was a smart way out of the situation. Also, I thought the coda with Garrett at the end was pretty awesome, actually. A cool nod to his comic persona... right before getting blown away.

Rayna Stuff - I find Flowers very interesting. I like that she has an agenda all her own. I am also intrigued by what's going on with Skye's father, too. Hopefully someone turns into Graviton at some point.

Deathlok - I'd like to see more of him. But he still needs a better costume.

Fury/Coulson/The New Status Quo - I know it might seem flippant, the way that they dealt with Coulson's anger. He's been tortured by this all season, after all. But, I actually think given the context... and just having it come from Fury... I bought it. It made sense. I think Fury thinking of Coulson as an Avenger said everything. And in light of what happened to SHIELD, I think Coulson knows Fury was right to do what he did, because who else is going to rebuild it? I loved the mission Fury sent Coulson on. It's a great way to keep the series going. Plus, Coulson... Director of SHIELD! Yes! Also....

Koenig! Yes! He's back! That makes me happy. I hope he sticks around. I'd be up for him being a regular next season, frankly. But what IS up with him? Something going on there, for sure.

So, all in all... I had a lot of fun. Looking forward to next season. I hope they can keep the momentum they gained up.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

That was great when he blew him to pieces.

So Koenig is a LMD.

But is Coulson. :gah:

He could be and still possess emotion.

You nailed it with Koenig--Life Model Decoy for sure. But I don't think Coulson is one.

All in all, the first season of AOS was pretty damn good. After a so-so start and some weak episodes, the final 10 episodes of the season were a blast, and the finale was superb. They really, really stuck the landing with this episode and it sets up so many interesting possibilities with Skye's father, Coulson's ascension to Director of the NEW SHIELD and Coulson's new hobby of writing in an alien language, just like Garrett before him. How long until Skye starts doing the same? Anyone want to take a crack at what he was writing? I'm going to say its Thanos related.

Still giddy over the Destroyer gun.

Now, why didn't Mike Peterson's brain bomb go off when he disobeyed Garrett.

I thought Cybertek was not controlling him.

My feelings summarized in this one photo.

Great season finale! Loved the action, loved the witty banter between Coulson and Fury during the fight scene. Loved seeing the destroyer gun back in action. The Fitz / Simmons scene really made me sad. Wonderfully done. When Fury was telling Coulson about how he needed to rebuild SHIELD and why he was picked I was waiting for him to say that they needed a man who had a Vision. But I know that's not gonna happen. Coulson isn't gonna be the Vision, but a man can dream.

I really hoped we hadn't seen the last of Garrett. He was great to have on the show, but after he armored up and got disintegrated I think its pretty safe to say he's gone now :(

Any thoughts on who's Skye's slimy father is? That wasn't the hand of a normal, healthy person.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

I'm thinking that there's a Koenig at each shield secret base. They're off the radar and don't have direct communication with eachother, if only in words, no visual. That way they don't realize they're LMD's. What better way when you only need one person to keep a base up and running

I'm curious with fitz. Simmons said he was alive and Fury said he went without oxygen for a long time. I wonder if brain damage is going to come into play next season.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

I got that impression too - a Koeing at each base. But this one knew of the other's death, so they must know about each other to some extent.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Yeah, I think they may be neteorked. All the secret bases know of eschothers existence, the agent in charge but they've never met and never had anything outside of emails and messages.

That or they're fully aware that they are LMD's and that each base is staffed by one but because they've never met, they dont have that emotional bond between them so they aren't saddened by the death of one of them.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

I'm just glad Garrett got blown to little bitty pieces!
I'm sorry but Bill Paxton's acting was AWFUL in that series.
Glad he's gone...for now(I have a feeling he might show up somehow)

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Finale left me with a sort of "well, okay.":dunno

I really had high hopes for this show and it got a bit more interesting post winter soldier, but just kinda coasted the rest of the way. Honestly, I think if this weren't tied to MCU it probably would have been canceled a while back.

I'm really hoping Agent Carter fares better.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Does anyone here know what kind of contract Sam Jackson signed? He's been in 2 iron man movies, both of cap's, Avengers, and now two Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I know to to the majority of the public he is Nick Fury, but how many of these appearances is be signed up for?

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Well I liked that episode! At least now I can watch this show not because I'm a Marvel fan but because I'm an Agents of Shield Fan

I doubt the Agents of SHIELD stuff has anything to do with his movie contracts. Those appearances are probably negotiated separately.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

I went to my shelf and reposed mine with the Destroyer Gun. First time using... it had to be done after this episode.

Completely agree, it was such a nice touch bringing the destroyer, its just coulson's signature already
