Hey...some info on Gollum NRD...

I talked to Sideshow today and told them about the notice we got for Gollum not including the NRD of $30 we paid already and at first they said the price did include the NRD and then they realized that it didn't and apologized for the mistake. They said it shows up on their end but not on our account. I suggested that they send another email to everyone with the right final price to avoid complaining and errors on their end end they will said they will notify everyone before charging....

I'm happy cause I used a $50 coupon plus the NRD which takes $80 of the original price. I will only have to pay $235 with shipping. Great deal considering it is going up in price in the secondary market.....

Thanks for taking the initiative to contact Sideshow on this Bear! I think the NRD things is still pretty new, and some of the first wave of products that incurred an NRD are just now starting to show up, so their system may need a tweak!

It'll be nice to see how this looks when he ships, and I am really excited to see the second display base functionality in person.

HI can someone please explain what this means? what is the international edition? is it the same as the one that was sold out? Is it part of the 500 limited production? or are they in addition to the 500? if the latter how many more were made.

This is so confusing, sideshow didnt have any explanation about what the difference is.

I really think sideshow as a company is going down the toilet with their reputation over the recent years. They need to announce how many of each figure will be made, then stick to it. What's the point of saying 500 were made when there are international versions with god knows how many more copies out there. Now with their stormtrooper PF statue, they wont even set a limit, and there are about 2 dozen versions of the other *trooper statues with different colors out there.

Unless there are some specials (like the starcraft marine statue) in the future, i think the stormtrooper PF will be the last sideshow figure i buy. I just dont think their new $300+ products have much collector value left given the way they run the business now, the word limited edition has different meanings apparently to SS. Will probably look at some of the japanese companies for my future collectibles.

Hmm, I'd really like to know exactly what they mean by "Featuring An Alternate Base". Does that mean just what it does for the Domestic Version, i.e. an alternate base to display the second torso on, or does it mean an alternate base that differs from the domestic version ? I'm betting on the former; surely they wouldn't create an entirely new base for a small International edition ? The bottom will be marked "International Edition", obviously, but will they be identical otherwise?

If it's anything like the Patient Zero PF, the International Edition will differ from the regular and exclusives simply by the text printed under the base. Where the regulars will simply have the edition number/total edition size, the International Edition will have the words "International Edition" above the edition info. And no, the international ones are not counted in the edition size for the regular release - they'll have their own edition size.

Again, that's assuming they follow the pattern established with Patient Zero.

Edit: In fact, if you look closely at the picture in the post above, you can barely make out the words "International version" printed between the Sideshow and LOTR logos.

Sideshow hasn't exactly clear as to what will differentiate the two, but I think El Skutto is right, that the only difference will be the label on the bottom that reads "International Version" or whatever. I think everything else is the same except for the text on the bottom and the edition sizes.

I just spoke to someone there and they confirmed what you just said, Seaward.....This is what someone at Sideshow told me:

"The item will be the same (exact). The ONLY difference is that the INTL edition will say INTERNATIONAL on the bottom."

That is probably one of the silliest things Sideshow ever did. I don't know the reason why they did that but it does not affect us so there you go.

She also said she saw the piece yesterday and it looks amazing. I'm really looking forward to getting it.

Fritz, I was kicking around the idea of ordering a second Gollum long ago, but with Gandalf and Gollum shipping within the same month, I had to pass. I was seriously tempted to order one of the "International Versions" too, so I could display Gollum and Smeagol together, but money is still a little too tight to drop $300 on a whim right now. I have been really tempted though!!!

Somebody knows when the International Edition will be release ? At same time that the Domestic or later ???? I´m Spanish, and I will buy the International on my country, but I don´t know what expect about the release dates.

That really does kind of rub me the wrong way. Sideshow wouldn't let me Flexpay the one I had on pre-order yet they are going to produce 1,000 more and slap an International version on it, which obviously appears to be available.
