I saw the second base today. It's not an alternate display mode, but somewhere esthetically pleasing to put your unused upper body and interchangable nameplate. Looked great to me. Makes me wish the Gandalf PF had something like it to hold the Exclusive head.

Figured it wouldn't be an alternate display per se, but that it would turn the unused torso into a bust of sorts.

I don't know what the plan is to show the second base. Heck, I didn't even know about until I saw it there.

I don't think it's a strategy as much as something they may have thought of after the main piece was already done. They probably looked at it, and somebody said, "you know, it's a shame there isn't some way to display both alternate parts so that people can get the most out of their exclusives." The later piece may not have been done in time for the original photos. And they've got a zillion things going at one time, so it may not be high priority to put up all new pics.

And, it does give us something to keep talking about...

Trust me though, it adds a lot to this piece. I'm really stoked they added it.

with the new NRD i'm curious as well to see if my WL will convert for this and if so i wonder if it's because someone actually cancelled or if ssc just happened to keep a handful back.:dunno

I purposely waited until the item sold out to order. No immediate NRD and I was pretty confident it would eventually convert. When it sold out it went to checking inventory and I got on the waitlist within minutes of it becoming available, before they even posted on the spook page that the waitlist was up. I have to be one of the first to be on the waitlist so it will be interesting to see what happens. I will be more shocked if it doesn't covert than if it does.
