Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Of course they can use the term mutant, they just can't call them "X-" etc. without paying Fox.

Then why the issue of using Scarlet Witch or Quicksilver in Avengers 2? Sure they're slightly associated with the X-Men, but they're far more associated with the Avengers. Luckily there was some sort of deal struck between the two studios so they'll be in Avengers, I just think they won't be allowed to refer to them as mutants.

You know what would improve this show greatly? Add Dum Dum Dugan to the main cast.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

I didn't watch the show, from seeing the previews with a hundred and twelve pound Asian girl karate kicked a 6'2" 300 pound man to the floor
Then smirked at the camera. And looked like 90210 meets heroes and the x-files. Obviously they're trying to get hot good looking young actors to appeal to the younger demographic, but it look like a bunch of rubbish. If any characters are around they will probably be a bunch of d-list cameos due to the fact any good character probably have some copyright infringement. This show seems like just something to fill in the gaps before the next phase movies are released. I have also 0 interest in that show arrow I watched about 5 minutes of it and it was ridiculous, there are no good TV shows on anyhow even besides these Marvel ones,

Because of the familial association with Magneto, a major character used by Fox. Due to their long terms as Avengers this is why both studios are using them instead of splitting hairs.

Fox has no rights to the concept of Mutants. You can come up with any "well if.. or what if.." scenarios you want, this has already been decided in court. They have the rights to mutants associated with X titles and the brand of X in a title, which the courts basically attributed to professor X's brand on teams, not representative of the concept of mutants themselves.

Just so you know that hot, young Asian is 50 years old.

I can't believe the hate for this already. :lol

I think most episodes of Arrow are written much better, so you probably saved yourself some time.

A Howling Commands show woud've been 10x better than SHIELD.

Have any concrete info on this?

Mutant and X-Men go hand in hand. They sold off all Mutant characters, its hard to believe the term is one thing they kept.

Like what? Info's on the web, its not like the court cases were under tight wraps when Mutant X was on and Fox went sue **** crazy on everyone, guess you're new to the comic book scene, explains something about your piss poor tastes. :rotfl

Courts sided with Marvel on everything but use of the "X" and them connecting the X-Men to Mutant X on commercials. Marvel paid a "private undisclosed settlement" and got to keep the X, which is why for years afterwards the show was still available on DVD, Marvel kicked the advertising agency under the bus and claimed they never gave permission for the X-Men to be used in the advertisements and Fox went after the advertising company and I believe a few others Marvel "blamed" for the snafu.

But, yeah, I've seen you post about Fox owning all mutants and the conceptus for mutant before, but I just ignore it cause like most stuff you post, if I just went around correcting you, it would be a full time job. :lol

PS: You should write Universal and tell them they no longer have rights to Namor, cause hes a mutant. :wave

If FOX owned the rights to all muntants, we wouldn't be seeing Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver in Avengers 2 (though no mention of their Magneto heritage will be mentioned). The fact that both have been confirmed negates the entirety of his statement.

Well... it is Nova after all. :wink1:

The deal that indicated both could use them as they ave been Avengers for most of their appearances. That part is widely known.

P.S i politely asked a fair question Niltusk, no need to be snarky and insulting :pfft:

I've never heard that Fox didn't own exclusive use of the term Mutant until now.

You post stupid crap 20 hours a day on these boards, yet you can't google a court case thats public record? I'm reciting from memory, but the case lasted awhile and was covered by tons of sites, its all out there for you, stop being lazy. Hell, my memory may be faulty with some of the details, no ones perfect, but you just sling outright stupidity that you've never researched and then have the gall to ask where I got my information from?

Maybe it came out of your *** like everything you post. :lol

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

What you claimed contradicted with what i've heard so I asked a simple question for clarification, that was all.

You're the one who started with personal insults, acting as if this is all common knowledge

Common? Guess that depends on your definition of the word, but it was very public and covered by fan sites. If you think me calling you out on your laziness is that insulting, I'd hate to see how bad you cry when someone actually insults you in person. :monkey2

Didn't you once say if I didn't like your post to put you on ignore? Maybe you should take your own advice cause it seems I always hurt your feelings. :wave

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Anyways, you might wanna start here...https://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/story?id=106815&page=1

and then you can piece together the rest of the news on suits and countersuits from various sites, but I doubt you're going to find anything that has a complete and accurate history all in one article.

Don't say I never did anything for ya! Goodnight! :wave

Man, you can tell how much special treatment Gregg is getting. I think I counted about two extra light sources on his face for every closeup. :lol Hope he sticks around for awhile!

Extremis is fine when it's not an excuse to utterly obliterate traditional comic book characters, so its not nearly as ****ty here as in IM3... until people can magically sprout from a few burnt nose hairs. Characters were kind of weak and the acting and script was a tad underpar, but as it's been said before, its good enough to get off the ground.

I don't get people complaining about the flying car though. Remember folks, Avengers saw giant floating space slug ships.
