Sideshow has the new Mummy license!

More resources moved away from good lines like SW and LOTR.

Some people like diversity....

I can all but guarantee I will not be purchasing anything, but I will say I enjoyed the first two movies for what they were. I don't think they had oscars or golden globes in mind when they made the flick... people seriously need to relax....

It's hard to say whether I think it will be good or not. For me, the "Mummy" mythos has always been pretty closely tied to Egypt, so I don't know how well I will like the China perspective. But I've liked the previous installments well enough to give it a chance.

But either way, there certainly appear to be enough vivid characters in the film that Sideshow should be able to produce something impressive.

I will definitely buy a Rick O' Connell figure and hope that I can find the clothing to kitbash a Mummy 1 version of him. What sucks is that they replaced Rachael Weisz with Maria Bello because production refused to wait for her to finish the film she was working on that conflicted so any Evie figure will be a complete waste

All I know is I would never collect anything tied to a movie with Brendan Frasier.

Either would I. But then, I don't know who Brendan Frasier is. A Brendan Fraser figure from the Mummy films might be interesting, though.

Diversity shmirsity. If we start getting announcements for "The Mummy" 1/6th scale figures before SSC announces another Indiana Jones or GI Joe figure, I'll be like "WTF"?

This is like a Van Helsing type property. SSC has so many good licenses (and there are so many good licenses unowned (Ghostbusters, Firefly, etc) that getting te rights to these crapfests makes me sad. I guess I'll take comfort in knowing I have no desire to spend money on it.

I look forward to it. I take the movie for what it is. I enjoy then with my kids because there is not much you can watch these days as a family. Hey maybe we'll get a 6th yeti.

Yes, I've watched it and I think the movie looks pretty darn good, but I usually reserve judgement until I've at least seen a movie...

me too!! i was gonna hate the movie until i saw the trailer. now i have a little hope that it will be ok.

Kinda feel like his will be the next Van Helsing but if sideshow have aqquired the right to this and van hellsing maybe theres a chance they'll get the rights to the new wolfman, which i think looks great.
