Watched this last night and loved it.

U know....I'm such a hardcore fan of Star Wars...yet...i've never takin the time to actually research George Lucas as a person. And in those short 7 minutes of the video, I can say that he seems to be a really nice guy.

He's a great guy, actually. He quit the business to raise his kids, which makes him pretty awesome in my book. I agree with most that the prequels leave a lot to be desired, but few people can jump back into their careers after 17 years away and be at the top of their game. And like it or not, only the blindest fanboy would even try to pretend "The Phantom Menace" wasn't as revolutionary as "Avatar" at the time.

I don't know much about the guy, either, but I don't recall hearing anything negative about his personality, really. James Cameron, on the other hand. . .

Great interview. Now Lucas needs to stop the book writing and get on those monkeys over at LucasArts so they can create a great Indy game.

OOOooo tell us the juicy gossip!
Nothing special. Just that he becomes a dictatorial ass toward people, chastising and yelling profanities at people who screw something up, etc. I guess he's earned the right. Man can make some fine movies, and if that works for him. . .

That was funny, and it was kind of humbling and cool to see Lucas being so self-deprecating in regards to how the SW film series turned out.

I might just read that book...

Maybe he should have cast Bale instead of Worthington. :monkey1

It seems he sees the movies for what they are MOVIES. Sometimes I think we take Nostalgia a little to far, at least I do, but I am working on it....

i cant get over how gullible people are. it's all about lives of celebrity to these people. 'oh he takes care of his children, that makes me want to watch his movies.' 'oh he shouts profanities and jumped on oprah's couch. screw him! screw his films!'

like you know any of these big names in person.

fact is the ONLY real tangible relationship you have to them is through their WORK. who the hell cares if he's a perfect husband or perfect dad in real life if he makes crappy movies. are you his friend? his employee? his son? no? then what are you if not a film fan, and ONLY a film fan. celeb's family life and the rest are just tabloid junks and should hold no importance to film lovers. really, some of you here should know better than think like a bored housewife.

and what's better than blind? being ignorant?

phantom menace employed the tech already available at the time. it didnt invent anything new. avatar on the other hand had to invent 3 advancement in film techs to be what it is. google it yourself if you want to know what those are.
