I can hardly wait for my goodies to arrive from ABC. I also ordered Wolfie, and got Predalien for a couple of bucks cheaper by auction. My P2 Elder will FINALLY be here next week, and AvP:Requiem starts showing next weekend. I am so looking forward to seeing that movie... I really hope it's a total winner.

If ABC ships Wolfie and Predalien by the end of December, this is gonna be one hell of a great month for us Predator Freaks!

A little sample for you guys of what's to come when I get my HT PredAlien. I did this with the NECA figure, let your imaginations run wild :D

Man, that is one creepy-looking bug! If the 8 inch Predalien looks this great, just imagine how freakin' awesome that HT version's gonna look... at 18 inches! I can hardly wait to see that sucker in action... next week!
:chew :chew :chew

Oh...man, I really didn't need to hear that...not now anyway! If it's gonna suck, then there will be plenty of time to tear it all apart later, and you can be sure we will, but for now let us at least enjoy the illusion, however briefly, that it might actually be a good AvP movie... That wouldn't be asking too much now, would it? :D

Uh-oh...doesn;t sound like it's any good...

Well, of course I'm still going to see it...

Can't we like the bad guys even if we don't like the film???

I liked Kroenen from Hellboy, but didn't really like the film...

And the T-X from Terminator 3??? She is HOT...

Absolutely. Even if the movie is a total disaster, that shouldn't stop us from lovin' the figures. From what I've seen of them so far, I'd want these figures even if there was no movie. They should still rock even if the movie doesn't.

That's why I didn't get my hopes up for the movie. I figured overall...it was going to suck and be a bad flick...maybe better than AvP, but still bad.

That way I go in with the LOWEST of expectations and either way, coming out of that theater I know I will NOT be disappointed. :D

It IS interesting to note that the 1st AvP movie generally didn't go down too well with the fans , but the figures seemed to be hugely popular . Now , people are saying that they'll buy the figures even if the next movie stinks . This raises the question , do we need a movie to inspire us to buy a figure or would we pay out for a figure just because it was an " Alien" or "Predator" ? Kind of takes you back to the "Kenner Years" , doesn't it ?

Well, that's the power of the original designs for you, there is no need for a movie for people to enjoy the designs of these monsters, but it does help to create excitement and a bigger fan base.

The characters from Aliens and Predator are still being made and sold like hot cakes, even though countless toys, models, statues, and practically every other kind of collectible imaginable have been continuously produced for over 20 years running, and with no end in sight. I believe we do need a movie, or something that makes such a huge and lasting impression on so many people that they're willing to keep spending their money on things like this.

I didn't take part in the "Kenner Years" you mentioned, and I haven't spent loads of money on stuff "just because it was an Alien or Predator", although some people probably do. That said, I do love the characters, because the original movies made such a lasting impression on me, and I feel that figures like the ones Hot Toys has been producing lately are in a way long overdue. I guess a lot of people may feel the same way about it, that we're finally able to have something that captures the excitement and awe we experienced from watching the movies quite like nothing else has before now. Statues are cool and so are action figures, but these 1/6 scale articulated figures, with all the fine detailed weapons and equipment are almost like having a piece of the movie you can own and display in your home.

In this particular case, the figures have come out before the movie itself, which is kind of unusual. It's generally been the other way around. These new AvP:R figures by Hot Toys look amazing, and since we're figure collectors as well as movie fans, I guess that's why some of us want these figures whether the movie is good or not. I can't speak for anyone else, but at least that's how I feel about it. :D

Read that earlier tonight... its really a sick looking figure. And one I will have to have for my collection.

I know you haven't put up your Alien Warrior review yet... but is it just a rehash of the AVP but with a different head. Or are there more differences.

Extremely detailed, informative and very entertaining review. I'll have to reserve judgement as to which figure is the best of the three until Wolf arrives, but the PA looks like a fantastic figure! Glad to know the ankle joints are nice and tight, too. The paint apps look much better up close than in some of the early pics posted here. I still feel it could use some more work in that department, but overall it turned as good as I first expected and I'm glad I've got one on the way.
