Just got home to find mine! Gonna go unpack it and take some photos. Hope the rest of the gang who got him today can post some more until I get mine done! Looks great so far, can't wait to open it up! *runs back upstairs* ee!!!

I tried out the EX hatless portrait--and while I like the fact that you can appreciate the head sculpt a lot more, I think I'm going to stick with the more iconic version of Gandalf with a big old wizard's hat.

Oh, and no--the sword isn't removable.

My last flex payment is a few weeks away. I may call SS and see if they can charge me sooner.

The detail on the clothing is amazing.

I think I will try the staff lighting a few times and then remove the batteries. My statue (once it arrives) will be locked behind plexiglass so there is no need to keep the batteries installed.

Got mine tonight. This from a longtime Sideshow collector dating back to Sideshow Weta days: BEST portrait EVER. It is kinda shocking, looks like a miniature Ian Mckellen in my hand. Hard to imagine this Gandalf being topped. Right now it is the standard.

I moved things around several times and finally decided on this order. My son looked at them and commented that we had a statue for each of the four classes in the LOTR: Conquest video game (archer, mage, scout and warrior). That shows you that he has Xbox on the brain.

Getting my hands on Gandalf really leaves me wanting another hero or two in this line.

It was a little strange that the included a version without that hat as an Ex but now that I've seen that i'm glad they did because that headsculpt is one of the best I've seen.

I was THIS close to cancelling him, and I am so glad that I didn't. I really want a complete Fellowship and I think that's going to happen with the maquettes and not the PFs, but I just love this format so much that I can't leave it behind--even if it means I won't ever get all of the nine heroes in the same format.

My pics didn't turn out great. I could only have him out for an hour or so, and then had to pack him back up. (no room right now). Sadly, the only place I could open him was in a cluttered family room. So the lighting and everything is crap. Still, i figured i'd throw some up for those of you who have to wait longer!
