It's odd that no one is able to comprehend this one seemingly obvious fact about Wesker.

He may have sided with the survivors of this film at the end (Alice and the rest plus the US soldiers but that is because as he said they are most likely the last human survivors left on Earth (and that are free since Umbrella is keeping prisoners, namely Chris and Claire) to defend themselves from the T-virus but this type of "bad guy teams with good guys" situation as sort of occurred in the games as well.

In Resident Evil 1, Wesker is already an employee of Umbrella when he is "working" with the good guys during the game. He betrays STARS and reveals he worked for Umbrella and even reveals he will be betraying Umbrella once he achieves his own plans when the night is over.

In Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles the Wesker/Umbrella split is developed a little more and it shows that Wesker wasn't just content with stealing the battle data from the mansion incident but he was on a mission to steal the entire Umbrella mainframe/database (this is the game that introduced Red Queen AI into the game series, minus the holographic little girl). The game also has another chapter where Chris, Jill and some other soldier raid a factory in Russia that is secretly housing an Umbrella facility (which is shockingly designed a lot like the Hive from the first film) and while they are providing that distraction, Wesker slips in through an underground tunnel and lays waste to everything in his path to get access to the Red Queen mainframe. So unbeknownst to the real heroes of the game, Wesker did in fact work with them but he did it for his own selfish personal reasons.

Considering the above, who here is to say that in the 6th film Wesker doesn't do a combination of RE1 and UC and work with the heroes on a two front attack against the facility that is housing the Red Queen but then at the end betrays everyone once he thinks he has gotten what he's come for? Hell they could even recreate the entire end of the first game and have Alice and team find Chris and Claire in a prison cell and then everyone makes it to the mainframe which would be where Wesker reveals he was just using everyone the entire time and then be murdered by what ever "Ultimate BOW" weapon (would be nice to finally see the original Tyrant) that is inexplicably housed right near the mainframe.

On another note, the ending of the film this is the most likely the outcome that would have happened if Capcom had the stones to allow Wesker to "win" and release the uroboros virus on the world rather than having the heroes once again save the planet at the last minute.

That virus would have turned about 5% of the world's population into superhuman badasses like Wesker while the other 95% would end up turning into the largest amorphous black sludge monster in the universe and it would quickly and easy absorb and devour all surviving living organisms on the planet. Chances are games would have said the Chris, Claire, Leon, Jill, Ada, Barry etc etc weren't all brought together by random chance, that were all choosen because they are all perfect candidates for the uroboros virus that way none of them would be killed and they end up being Wesker's equal (thus ****ing up Wesker's need to be a god amonst humans) and then help him stop the creature he so stupidly unleashed on himself and the world.

Thing is in the games no one knew Wesker was bad until the end. In the eyes of the main characters, it wasn't "bad-good-bad" it was "good-bad" in the games. Kind of hard to become friends with a guy again after he tried having you and your friends killed and mostly succeeded. Games > Movies, always has been, always is, always will be.

Either way, trying to justify something terrible is an oxymoron.

If that is the case then how do you justify nearly every single major comic book villain having to team up with the hero at some point in time? Joker, Lex Luthor, Magneto etc etc., they have all had to be "good" at some point in time, even if it's only to benefit them in the end by turning on the hero or revealing it was all a set up from the start

I don't care how bad the movie is, I've never taken them seriously, so I know I'll like it for what it is. And that's a mindless action film, a movie to watch when there's nothing else to do. lol

Apples and Oranges my friend. Resident Evil =\= 50-70 years of comics where that kind of stuff is expected. Wesker was pretty much raised evil in the games, he was never once a shred of good except when he had to fool STARS and even then I'd hardly call him "good." He was very emotionless when he was with STARS.

I wouldnt say Wesker was completely evil with no good in him. He stepped on whatever got in the way of his vision. its not to say his vision was to step on everybody. We now know hes got a Son, we dont know the circumstances of how that came about or if he was indeed married to Jakes mother at all. He also seemed to have a "brother-like" Relationship with Billy Birkin. And Chris + Wesker fought against Alexia during Code Veronica so theres lots of glimmers of things not being 1 dimensional with him, as it pertains to game wesker being pure evil. In fact, in CV and RE5 he almost kind of made a sport of things, giving people a chance to survive. (until he obviously got uroboros'd at the end when he lost his rag)

It was true for the 2 seconds they both rolled away from the same bit of flame it was like OMG ! Chris and Wesker are gonna have to work toge-oh wait Weskers left

But he did take Steve's body, and elude to the fact he might of brought him back to life. (And its still on the cards, that Jake... Steve... something could be going on there...)

He did seem to hold back alot. He also let Leon be in RE4 too until the point he started to heavily interfere with the overall plans. He doesnt seem to just mindlessly eliminate people unless hes pushed to it. But then you get what he did to Excella. So its up in the air
