What people need to stop doing is *****ing about a figure until it can't be gotten any more and then get mad when you can't get 1 in retail when you see in hand pics

My bad not trying to start an argument but in every forum there's always people who do that. they hate on something the whole time and as soon as in hand pics come out they want it and it's not available anymore and then they get mad at everyone else because they can't get 1 for the original price. I wish people would just get over it already. I hear the same thing from too many people. I'm definitely glad that some people ended up after the fact getting it for retail I really am but don't blast places because they want to do what they want to do. It's called testing the waters. They put it for an exorbitant amount and see if you are willing to pay that and keep reducing the price until they get a hit. They should get mad at the people who pay 400 dollars for a figure and make everybody else think it's okay to offer it for that price. Welcome to capitalism it works both ways. If there weren't people who are willing to pay that much for it no 1 would be able to offer it. I myself would never ever pay 400 dollars for a figure unless it was hot toys caliber.

I personally hate when people miss the boat on things at retail price and then ***** about the scalpers. It's bound to go up in price since it's a rarity now. No one is going to try to give you a deal when they can obviously get more money out of you or someone else.

But this is completely uncalled for to jack the price up over 2x the original when it's not even officially released yet, that's our problem.

Right I get that man but everybody had the chance to get it at retail as soon as it was up for preorder it was on at least 10 different sites that I use so I see your point and everything but come on

Oddly enough, I agree 100% with both of you gents :D

Too many people did the same thing with the RAH Batman when it was announced - people griped about how bad it looked and then, after a few other Freaks and I got one in-hand and shot some decent photos, others jumped all over it and now if you can get it for retail you're doing really well.

Same thing goes here, though I do think it's shady a retailer is selling a figure at 5x the retail price and listing it as "IN STOCK" and you, WellCQC, haven't even received yours which you pre-ordered from them. THAT is what bothers me. At least ship and deliver the pre-orders to those that did pay and then sell off your extra stock at ridiculous prices. After all, what's to stop them from actually cancelling your pre-order (at $60) IF - for some strange reason -these figures suddenly started selling at $300 each? Sounds crazy, but they are - after all - a business looking to make $$

Good point bringing up the RAH's. Makes me think of the MGS3 line, 300$+ for just about all of them. Some people were selling the Tiger Stripe, Zombie and the Croc Cap in a lot for 2,000$ at one time.

I understand inflating prices, but then it just because ridiculous.

They can't cancel a preorder its a contract that you were made to pay at a certain rate. You own it. i nailed 2 ebayers for that. They ordered extra to sell the way they chose to. I could agree with you that they would prioritize the higher price orders because there would be no proof of that. As long as I get mine for what I was told. That's why there are preorders. So you can lock it in.

Actually, any store reserves the right to cancel a pre-order as long as they refund you your money or any deposits paid in advance.

It's ALWAYS in the fine print as it's a liability for them to "guarantee" a product they're pre-ordering; it's simply not realistic to do so since they can't guarentee the manufacturer's work.

Were a manufacturer to have to allocate stock due to a shortage of a product, the retailer wouldn't be able to guarentee a product's receipt until they actually had it in hand. A pre-order, if anything, provides a retailer with an accurate count of how much of a product to order to ensure they don't order too few or too many. In fact, most retailers I know would much rather order too few of a product than too many - they are in the business of making money.

While your analogy of a pre-order being a contract isn't terrible, a better analogy is a pre-order as a ticket to buy if/when the product becomes available. That ticket has no binding measures attached to it and if it's cancelled, the retailer will simply give you back the cost of the ticket.

Notice how Anime Island advertises that they have NO Raiden figures IN STOCK on their own website for $59.95 yet they have the figure IN STOCK on Amazon.com for $300+?

Yeah...that's simply scalping at the retailer level. It's up to them what they do with their stock, but - as I've said before and I'll say again - that only hurts the fans who want to buy the figure at retail and aren't able to because of scalping.

crowning horse how many do they have on Amazon is it just 1 maybe they're holding one to see what they can get away with I haven't had a chance to check and you're right about pre ordering I was just at work so I didn't have a chance to write a multi paragraph thing so I kinda just half assed my comment

guys!!!! sweet news! amazon has gekkos on pre order for an august release. theyre 40 bucks for 2. im so glad i didnt pull the trigger on the 110 dollar ones on ebay!

And there it is, someone said they knew they'd list these individually - seems a simple waste to only make them an exclusive and NOT release them for wider sale...

I'm guessing a 2-Pack for SDCC: Raiden & Gekko with unique paint or colors.

And Anime Island says they have "Only 10 Left in Stock" HA HA HA :D

you say that about the bundle but they already made 5 versions of raiden. i only see these gekkos being packaged with a mistral if anything. 2 pack for gekkos only a definite!

that could happen too - new character and gekkos, though normally they don't pack a lot of accessories in with a figure that's got a lot of bulk/build UNLESS they increase the price (as they did with Solidus)

I still see Raiden as a SDCC repaint of some sort - as well received as the regular version has been...OR maybe one of the 5 variants we've seen - yellow or blue? - is actually a SDCC exclusive? They've not mentioned who'll be selling those two, right?
