the chick part of the creature wasn't attractive as a women or even cool as a monster, so in my book, it makes for a horrible statue. The movie was ok until the last disgusting 30 minutes where Brody bangs her and then his Ex gets raped by it. This goes up there with one of the worst announcements ever and their sales WILL reflect that.

Whether or not it's a good idea, I'm curious how the "Splicence" came about. The movie's a couple years old, it had a low-ish budget, and it didn't do any business at the box office.
I bet it has something to do with the movie's Executive Producer and noted collector ... Guillermo del Toro. Maybe it's a personal favor? Or maybe it's the beginning of a relationship between Sideshow and one of Hollywood's most high-profile geek directors? I'd be curious to hear the behind-the-scenes scoop.
Personally I thought the movie was okay. Hey, they took a risk and didn't stick the landing. But I can't fault them for that. I'd much prefer more movies take a few more risks that than take the safe, boring, predictable route.

Blah, blah, blah. People said the same ____ about the AVP stuff. Again, look how that turned out. Going by Amazon reviews, it's really not much less popular than Species and despite a bunch of naysayers whining about how much they hated the movies and what the ____ was Sideshow thinking producing a maquette, it appears to be sold out. So at this point, downing it because you didn't like it is a bit naive, there will be genre interest.

This will get one statue out of it, and it will take years to sell out, doesn't mean something was/is successful just because it eventually sold out through countless discounts.

haven't seen the movie yet so I can comment. Don't be afraid of the dark that is..... Splice was terrible and IMO would make terrible collectables... Comparing AvP to this??? Thats crazy.

me and the gf loved this movie. I'll be getting a statue for sure!
I thought the movie was pretty entertaining.
once the sex thing kicked in it lost its ability to be a "quality movie" thats for sure. But after it was over I thought they had big swinging balls to green light the movie in the first place and somehow get Brody attached.
