I forgot there were Star Wars toys commercials until you posted that. Thank you.

This was my Saturday afternoon every week until Fox 51 replaced WLVI 56 (the Boston Globe station) sometime around 1986.

That is so awesome. I was born in 1985, but grew up watching my old Godzilla tapes as a kid. He was my hero growing up.:lol

It was awesome and then some. Godzilla was the show's main attraction, but there were a ton of other monster movies broadcast. I guess it ran until '83.

That's pretty cool. We have a similar show here in the Chicago area, but it's hosted by this guy named Svengoolie who is actually mentioned in that Wikipedia article. He's been around forever. They show old horror movies late at night on WCIU. When I was a kid they'd show them during Saturday afternoon, but changed the time slot at some point.

Here's Svengoolie. He's kind of a local celebrity around these parts.

I grew up as a kid in the mid 70s and we had a show late Saturday nights on KSTP in Minneapolis called "Horror Incorporated."

Listen to this guy's voice. :yess:

Good times man!

Shows like these really seem to hold a special place in the hearts of many of us horror fans that grew up watching them. It's a shame seeing so many of them disappear to be replaced by reality shows and reruns of Judge Joe Brown. I'm glad Svengoolie is still up and running for now.

Too bad you weren't around for 70s Saturday morning cartoons. :)

Did Elvira's new show get canceled? :monkey2

I don't remember any of the shows hosted by Son of Svengoolie, and I watched from '79-'83. Must have been really brief.

There's a thread in the horror section discussing horror show hosts and he came up. Closest thing I got to something like that when I was a kid was Tales from the Crypt on HBO, but it really wasn't the same.

Your new signature and avatar rule.

Thanks Devil. Blade3327 made it for me. I think I'll be keeping this avatar and signature for quite some time.
