Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

OK.... VERY late to the party here, but you know family stuff etc. my two cents... (Out of left field 'cause no-one seems to have mentioned this) my Idea for Slipknot. cast a big A list actor, show them in all the publicity stuff.... and then do exactly the same thing they did in the movie. BANG! you've got the audience not knowing what to think....... Opinions?

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

It was an abusive relationship that they edited to still be an abusive relationship.

:lol :lol

All it seems he did is threaten or blackmail people, and presumably pay people off, though. Again, pretty conventional stuff by Joker standards. He just had a lot of capable thugs. Is any of that not something Tuco from Breaking Bad, Hans Gruber, or Blackmask would do?

See for me conventional would've been Joker going after Enchantress to attempt to form a partnership with her, use her for his greater good then take her out.

He just went about his business without a care in the world about Enchantress.

In some ways that actually makes him scarier than Ledger. He's basically the villain from Jessica Jones but without actually needing any superpowers. Yikes.

Yikes indeed, great point.

yup, totally agreed jye. this joker doesn't give a ****. :lol that's why I love what I've seen so far but I also think that's what is turning people off, they expected him to have some point to prove or some huge scheme or even worse, be batman's parents murderer. :lol

Seems like the perfect way to piss off the audience even more. What a missed opportunity.

That actually would have been great. I approve.

wait... so your upset with Leto's screen time, but you want a bigger name in a role that would be killed off in 20 minutes? :dunno explain. :lol

Never had a problem with Leto’s screen time, in fact the less the better, I just wasn’t a fan of Leto’s performance or the Joker’s role in the story.

The Slipknot thing would have just been a cool shock value moment that would have probably been the most memorable thing about the movie for me.

Of course not.

Damn really? Aren’t you a DC guy? Why haven’t you watched this yet?

I'm also a Thor guy and didn't watch any of his movies on theaters. Probably Ragnarok will be the first.

Btw I don't really care for the SS in the comics. Read some of the early stuff like a long time ago, didn't like it then, then read some more in anticipation for this movie, didn't care either :lol haven't even touched the modern stuff.

I was invited to see it this Tuesday though.

I remember thinking Suicide Squad was a weird choice to follow up BvS, I still do.

Yup. I'm interested to see where they take him.

An abusive relationship where joker is fully in love with harley
Thats different, joker is not meant to be in love with her like that.

Joker that's in love with Harley and still abuses and abandons her is more f'd up and interesting than having Harley be a delusional hag, IMO.

It was awesome seeing this again:

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Yup, lastnight.

Only annoying thing they do with these special screenings is that their "program specialist" are required to give an eye rolling lecture on the movie.

What was cool is that they played all the Batman related toy commercials and trailers from that era.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Very cool. I love the pre-shows, and some of the intros can be informative (sent you a PM, btw.)
