It just looks generic. I'm not saying it's bad, but it looks decent at best...a rental perhaps. I think Castlevania fandom may be clouding judgements on this one.

Actually it seems the other way around. A lot of reports are suggesting that this game has too much that is different from past Castlevania games, that it doesn't really feel like a Castlevania game.

I haven't played it yet so I have no basis for comparison...yet.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I do really want this to be good. The reviews I've read though are praising it's story and graphics, which are a big plus to me. While it's a no-brainer to say that the gameplay isn't exactly a revolution in gaming, it's still sounds like people are having an absolute blast and a half playing it. All that stuff combined is more than enough for me.

Actually, the Castlevania fanbase has always been cautiously pessimistic about this game, since it's developed by a western studio and bears little resemblance to past games in the franchise, so...you're a bit off on this one.

Looking at the creatures and environment in this game, I don't see how anyone could say this looks generic.

Downloaded the demo last night and just played it. Seemed cool to me. Mind you, i havent played a castlevania game since the early ones when i was a kid, but when i finished the demo i wanted more. Gotta be a good sign. Does anyone know anything about a special edition in the UK?

playing the demo right now.
got it from psn UK and it looks amazing.
I played all the castlevania's and they where fun games.
never was a mega fan of it but I will be a fan of this new graphic masterpice.

I heard the game is very long so is worth buying and its a showcase video game to show your friends.

going to get the real thing tonite.

Game have one on their books (in store) but even they don't know anything about it. It looks like we've gotten shafted on this one. :(

Have been psyched for this for a while now and have been loving the demo and have loved the fact there's going to be areas set outside of the Castle again like in Super Castlevania 4. Next friday can't come fast enough.

Yeah it does. I haven't had Castlevania since the Gameboy days early 90's.

I just downloaded the demo last night as well. Love all the wolves and that big beastly one coming through the gate. I love games at this time for Halloween.

I'm downloading the demo now and will jump on it later after dinner. Forgot all about the UK released demo. I thought it was strictly a PSN+ thing.

You don't give a crap about Castlevania games, we get it!

:lol:lol:lol

In his defense Enslaved does seem pretty awesome as well.

However I feel Enslaved will just be a play, beat it, forget it, type of game. Clocking in at about 8-10 hours as well where Castlevania is said to be around 20 Hours and have more depth as far as gameplay mechanics is concerned. I plan to pick em both up though :yess:

I'm going go with the new IP, Enslaved instead of a decent Castlevania.

Hey broken record, what does it matter to you that Enslaved is an original IP and Lords of Shadow is not? You've already admitted that you know jack squat about Castlevania anyway so it's all new to you.

That said, usually I do advocate supporting original games, so if it weren't for Lords of Shadow I'd probably give Enslaved a shot. From what Ive gleaned from Metacritic, these two games are getting scores within the same bracket.

You're getting dangerously close to trolling.
