Angel emptied my credit card like an hour ago. I gess he's on his way =) To tell you the truth, I'm so relieved there's not a new maquette planned for the near future in this line. My focus is totally on the Avengers right now, and I couldn't afford anything else. Said that, I hope they continue exploring the Buffy and Angel characters some day. I would definitely be up for Illyria, Xander, Giles or a new Buffy. Just not now O:)

Got my FedEx notification! He'll be home on the 6th of June. One whole week of waiting desperately, as usual.

Still nothing on my end

As much as their piece lately have been improving, I have high hopes for this one not having any major flaws, but I will pray too anyway.

At least if something does happen, we should hopefully be able to pull out a replacement if we report it quick enough. It's sad I even have to think this way so far in advance, but I've been 'burned' too many times. :(

That sucks and sorry to hear that, but I really hope that will not happen to you this time. I will wish you all the luck that yours will be perfect. :)

I can't believe how early this has come out, I was expecting later in June, but it's only June 1st tomorrow and it's already shipping. Also hoping there are no major QC issues with this one.

Are those still promo shots on sideshows site or are they production pics? Should have mine Tuesday. I got lucky with a good Faith paint job, hopefully Angel comes through well.

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer maquette line has been pretty successful from an artistic viewpoint if not from a financial one. Since we don't have an announcement of another statue we have to assume that the line is on "hold" or in other words - D E A D.

But they go out on a very strong note with Angel. This seems to be Angel from his own show as he's standing on a gargoyle as he was wont to do on the rooftops of Los Angeles rather than lurking in alleys as he did in Sunnydale.

Just like Spike, the exclusive version comes with a vampire face as well as the standard human portrait. Both are excellent likenesses to David Boreanz, although I'm not sure the hair is as spiky as it was in the early Angel days.

The base and gargoyle are excellent and fit in with the style, feel and scale of the bases for the other pieces in the series.

He's essentially a guy dressed in black with a long black coat, which could be deadly boring - but they succeeded in giving the the costume some drama by having the coat blowing in the wind - as it might on a breezy LA rooftop.

The paint supports the strong sculpt, with some actual tonal variance, unusual for a lot of production pieces. Frequently the factory can't match the paint detail on the prototype, but in the case I think they did a pretty good job.

It's a more dynamic pose than the Premium Format Figure of Angel, but there's only so much you can do with a character known for standing around looking broody.

Overall I'm glad that we got this many in this Buffy line, but I have to feel that it's ended too soon.

The exclusive is on Waitlist, but the regular version is still available as is Spike and Faith.

Both Angel and Spike are looking down so they'll display well together and the whole line has a very streamlined look.

Thanks for sharing the review and pics, Dave. I'm really looking forward to this one. Great job and can't wait to get mine in-hand!

Oh he looks wonderful. I think this must be the best Angel likeness to date. :D Although If I wanted to be extra picky I'd say there's too many folds for the back of the coat. It feels wrong given what the thickness of the fabric would have been, even allowing for a gale force breeze. There, I said I was being picky didn't I.

Also in hand what do you think of the paint job? Sometimes I've been finding with these things that even Trev's superb sculpts can be hindered by a poor factory finish.

Thank you for the wonderful pictures! He looks great. Not the best in the line (that's definitely Spike), but nice enough. Spike and Angel look amazing displayed together, and now that I see the five statues together on one shot, all I can say is WOW. This has been a short-lived line, but I am so happy with how it turned out. Better to have just 5 important characters, than getting a bunch of core characters and variants, then D'Hoffryn and Der Kindestod and never see Anya. Sure, Xander and Giles would give us a bigger sense of completion, and I'd buy them without hesitation, but if they're not coming, it's fine by me.
