Can't find the thread where I was seeking advice from all of you regarding an issue my gf had with the price of my whiplash mark ii. Anyways here is an update.
I’ll try and give you guys all the details as I can possibly remember.
After not hearing from her for most of a full day last week, I really started realizing how much I missed her and wanted to hear from her. COULD NOT STOP THINKING ABOUT HER (I think this was Tuesday or Wednesday of last week). So I get home from the gym, picked up my phone and saw a text from her! She texted me asking if I knew of any good remedies to get rid of a soar throat. Turns out she woke up feeling sick. So we chatted a bit back and forth and I asked her if she wanted to go see Jurassic World, which we did and had a good time.
AT THIS POINT WE STILL HAVEN'T DISCUSSED EACH OF OUR FINANCIAL SITUATION. Everything was fine though.
Since then, everything has been fine and earlier today, I decided to ask her over tonight for a surprise. She agreed.
About 6:30 p.m. today she comes over and I decided to cook her dinner and I went all out…candles, even rose pedals at the doorway and left the door unlocked leaving a note on the door saying, “come in, it’s open
”. Right when she walked in I had my stereo and ipod set to play “Aquaman” by Walk the Moon (it’s basically our song-we listned to it like 6 times while driving on our first date). So I hit play and walk over to her.
She loved it.
Biggest smile I’ve ever seen on her and kinda thought she was teary eyed.
So, we slow dance a little and just start talking about each others day and then I start telling her how wonderful and beautiful I think she is. She can barely look at me. She’s blushing and giggling and just loving every second of it.
Halffway through the song I go in for the kiss.
And it was definitely a kiss to remember.
It was perfect.
Time literally stopped for me.
So, then she says “hey I’m sorry about the other day”
And I said what do you mean? Trying my best to act confused, but I knew where she was going with it.
And she said, the whole money issue.
She then went into more details about her parent’s problems. She grew up not having a lot of money or nice things and I guess her dad would blow it off on gambling. She has the mentatlity that if you don’t “NEED” it don’t “buy” it.
Then she tells me this, I think I may have over reacted because I have such strong feelings for you.
And then she drops the L-Word! She says she’s falling in love with me!
I have no idea what to say.
So I end up saying that I’m falling in love with her too. Which I feel like I am. Just wasn't planning on telling her that soon!
Everything was PERFECT.
Literally 10 seconds later there is a knock on my door. No idea who it is.
So, I pause the music and open the door.
It's the UPS Delivery Driver, Gary. (I've actually become good friends with him over the last few months).
He's delivering my Iron Man Mark VII!!!
I had no idea it was coming, didn't see the email from sideshow that it had shipped
So, I sign for it and Gary mentions that whatever is in there must be pretty expensive
I tell him, thanks and to have a good night and he left.
Then my gf becomes really curious as to what's in the box.
So, I honestly tell her its a new collectible that I ordered a few months ago. And right away she asks the price.
Again, I'm completely honest with her and tell her.
I can tell she had a real problem with it.
I thought this would be the perfect time to go over my financial status with her and reassure her that I can afford these figures and am not going into debt because of them.
But she quickly asks if I have any more on order and I said just one but I have it halfway paid off already and won't be getting anymore for awhile (again being completely honest, I do have CA on PO but I will most likely cancel that order.)
She kinda laughs and tries her best to shake it off and make it appear that everything was fine...
5 or 10 MINUTES LATER THERE IS ANOTHER KNOCK
It's my cousin, stopping by unannounced, who I have an account set up on sideshow so that I can order two of figures that I really want and possibly use for trade later on or sell.
He is dropping off the Mark VII Stealth that was delivered to him earlier and was doing it because he was in my area.
So he says hi to my gf who he has met a few times and we chit chat for awhile and the whole time I can tell my gf is extremely upset. My cousin could sense it also and takes off about 10 minutes later.
As soon as he leaves, she starts yelling at me and accusing that I am lying to her! She didn't even give me the chance to explain and leaves.
BOTTOM LINE
I've called her twice in the last hour and she won't answer.
I have no idea what to do right now and I kind of can see her frustration but she didn't give me the chance to explain...
I guess all I can do now is go over my current financial situation with her and show her that everything is fine.
But I still feel like she is over reacting. We are definitely going to have a talk about this once things settle down.
I'm afraid that she may already have her mind made up though.
