Re: Rogue

The bottom line is that it doesnt live up to what we should expect out of a PF. Regardless of how many people think they got a good one or something "acceptable" it still isnt.

i would rather keep this face than rogues messed up paint job! what the hell is sideshow thinking producing emma like that!

I forgot how hideous that piece looked. Emma Frost is suppose to be a beautiful blonde. But that statue looks like she's from a spooky movie.

Re: Rogue

even tho everyone said my is the worse one, but aren't we have to put her at some angle to see better view?
here is the pic with body.....should I keep or return?

Re: Rogue

I received the one I bought for my wife last night (#24, if you must know). We were both worried about it after seeing the ones posted here. I won't say the heads we received were perfect, but she was satisfied with how they looked which was what was important to me, so we'll keep them unless SS steps up and offers an alternative.

But, in the midst of this controversy that's making us all look at our statues until we're cross-eyed (see what I did there?), let's not forget that other problems exist.

Like, for instance, random globs of glue. Or carelessly packed prints. Or just plain, ol' breakage.

Your not going to return it ? With that broken piece and the bent portrait. We pay too much money for subpar products

Re: Rogue

OK, I opened her up. At least to me it seems like she is looking in the same direction in both heads. :lol

Re: Rogue

Agreed, the pupil is blown out. And the other guy is happy to keep a broken statue that came with a bent portrait? :cuckoo:

Re: Rogue

Looks like SSC finally responded,

dont know how much good it does "the few of us that have this problem"...

---
Sideshow Collectibles
We have seen a few collector reports on the web that some of the Rogue figures have arrived with some paint issues. We have opened some of the Rogue figures at Sideshow to inspect the paint and have found that a few of the reported concerns are due to the hand painted, custom nature of each piece. Please know that Sideshow has a generous returns / exchange policy for all of our items. If you feel that you may have a paint or detailing issue with your figure, please snap a photo and send it to our returns department so that they can assist you further! We will be updating our Rogue gallery shortly so that collectors can see pictures of a Rogue production piece!

Isnt that like false advertising? The NRD should be abolished if they have the right to just change what they think is acceptable to ship to consumers even though it wasnt advertised.

I saw this response of Facebook and all I have to say is SSC's is starting to repeat itself on ALL defective merchandise. If I hear the "it's only 3-5 customer we've received complaints from" or "it's only a few customers" I'm going to seriously reconsider buying anything from them. No I didn't buy the Rogue (but I was about to, but it sold out before I could) but I still have been a victim of this same type of corporate mentality. Minimize customer's complaints. They need to own up and stop passing the buck. They are disingenuous when they say it's because these pieces are all hand painted. If this was the true cause, wouldn't nearly every run of every figure HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM? Or do they roll a coin and just have been lucky the majority of the time. I have a lot on order and waitlist--some SSC's and other Hot Toys. Not the slightest worried about Hot Toys, but seriously thinking if waitlists convert to just stop collecting 1/4 "hand painted, custom nature of the product" statues.

This response from SSC's is even more reason to send them all back if they have problems and not settle. Like another member said, would you pay 300+ for one of these if you saw it in a store?

You're seriously keeping that? Wow. I would return it, especially with a broken piece.

Re: Rogue

I actually got my statue on Thursday 9/29 but didn't take the time to even open it up until today. I started reading the forum yesterday and continued today BEFORE opening her up. I'll admit after all the bad press, pictures etc. I was nervous....

After I opened her up my immediate response was: "Looks good to me! I got lucky." Then I kept looking and realized it wasn't perfect. However, it isn't NEARLY as bad as people are making it out to be in my opinion. And from all the other pictures I can say mine isn't some special, extra good one. It is very similar to others when examined from 6 inches away or using a camera taking a picture 3 inches away.

But from even a very close distance I think the flaws are minor. A tiny bit of paint crossover at the bandana or a tiny bit of white missing from the corner of the eye, mascara line isn't perfect, etc. Things that are hard to see from even 1 foot away. These are hand painted and I really think people are being too critical. It's like most things in life, we rarely get perfection and if we do, it costs A LOT. If the time was taken to get perfection on these statues or the people hired that could even provide this perfection, these statues would be a whole lot more expensive and I am not talking 400 instead of 300.

All this being said. The one flaw that is more noticeable from a distance the wonky eye, especially on the regular head. The left eye looks too far left. The pictures people are taking make it look even worse because you often times don't see the left side of her face as much in the pictures which makes the white left of her left eye look even smaller than it is.

Last BUTT not least. The butt is obviously different but not a big deal at all. It still looks great and probably more realistic in my opinion. You could argue it looks less white trash.

Bottom line, I think it is an excellent statue and with the exception of the wonky eye, I see no reason to return it. I'm sure I won't return mine because of the eye because I think they all share this problem at least to some degree. I think everyone is being too hard on it and everyone is jumping on the bandwagon. From as little as 1 foot away I think she looks fantastic. Even the wonky eye isn't all that bothersome when you back away from it. If you weren't specifically looking for it I doubt anyone would even notice it. We all know these statues often have this eye problem so we focus on it.

Are you serious? I suppose like someone said above YOU would be one to buy a new car and if it had a gash in the seat, just not take it back in and instead settle for it or spend more money to have it fixed? You're entitled to your own opinion but why question or make light of those on here with legitimate complaints about a 300+ product?
