I'm excited about this, but worried that there won't be enough interest in Episode I for them to make it through all of the movies. Though, I'll definitely be there for all of them.

I always have and always will love SW, but I could give a rat's ass about 3D. This is completely worthless news IMHO.

"Official sources inside LucasFilm stated that the 4D Smellovision versions will be released on the big screens in April 2014" :rotfl

I wonder what the timing will be of the 3D to blu. Almost sounds like a holiday release of the same year the film comes out.

If so, it will give me some time to enjoy the 2011 blu release before purchasing another set! :lol

People, even people that hated the movie, saw it over and over and over. Those same people are going to watch it again and continue to _____ about it.

IrishJedi's butt is going to be in the seat watching TPM in the theaters :lecture

Not to mention they have this, "If I don't want it no one should get to see it." Seriously, are you all four years old?

The more I think about this...the better I like the idea (but still don't want Jar Jar looking like he is shooting his tongue into my popcorn).

I don't even care if they are 3D. I would just like to see them all in the theater again.

Do movies even use the pop off the screen 3D anymore? Every recent 3D movie I've seen just added depth to the picture.

piranah 3d had screen pop offs..........(one in particular that was fairly disgusting comes to mind...........:monkey4)

if done right i think it would be fairly cool to see the oncoming tie fighter explode into a pop off..............:yess:

Add me to the list that hates 3D. When I saw UP in 3D it really bothered me that the effect stops the viewer from taking in the overall frame and forces him to focus on something specific. So all those beautifully composed shots were reduced to just the characters in the foreground. Anytime I would TRY to look around the rest of the frame, it would make my eyes hurt.

If I have a choice, I will absolutely pic 2D over 3D viewing, so I really have no interest in these. The only good we can hope to come of all this is that interest in the movies will be renewed and we'll get more figures produced!

:exactly:

I'll be there. The battle of Yavin is going to kick ass in 3-D*. :wave

*So is the pod race, the battle on Geonosis, the battle aboce Coruscant, the battle of Hoth, etc...

Even though its obvious Star Whoring... I'll still be there ready to watch when they're released :lol

Still, it seems any movie with 3D added in post-production is just a waste of time (Clash of the Titans being the best example) so I hope its able to be done right.

This is funny and sooooo true. He can say what he wants, but I'd argue him seeing ROC as proof. :lol

I will be there to see TPM in theaters. While its easily one of my least favorites it has aspects that give it merit. Qui-Gon easily represents the kind of Jedi that I was imagining from Lucas' original descriptions of the Knights of the Old Republic. The Darth Maul/Duel of the Fates is definitely worth catching in theaters. The Podracing scenes while meh on tv were definitely more intense on screen.

I will be watching all six, I'm just glad when my son is old enough to dig Star Wars and really understand what he is seeing that we'll be in the OT (hopefully) especially since the assault of PT stuff isn't ending anytime soon and he'll already be exposed to that.

Qui-Gon made Episode I tolerable for me. Well, him and Darth Maul. Liam Neeson is god.

And there's a few sequences I wouldn't mind in 3D. I'm just not sold on it being "retrofitted." If the 3D isn't well done it's going to kill the experience. :(

I don't really have an interest in this. I just want the damn blu-rays and that MUST include the original cuts of the OT. Not this extended crap.

So? What does that matter? Where did I say I wouldn't be seeing it? :dunno

I'll give 'em all a whirl again in theaters, sure. Even with the 3D gimmick. But that doesn't necessarily mean I think it's the greatest idea in the world. And I do still think it's kinda dumb to start with the prequels, contrived chronology be damned. How some of you go from that opinion to assuming I'm implying a boycott or something is beyond me.

Again, there must be some kind of disconnect here. I don't get what it is you think you've "caught" me on.

And, yes, I saw ROC in theatres. Paid for tickets to a different movie (because I refused to let my box office money go directly to that) and saw ROC out of morbid curiosity. Interestingly, if I'm going to criticize something I usually like to see it for myself so I know what I'm talking about. Weird, I know.
