Spoiler:...if you're walking around with them, in plain sight, they can tell you're not dead by your smell. Hiding under cars where they can't get any kind of bead on you, and nothing has drawn their attention to your location, I don't think smell would be enough.
Spoiler:Was that patient zero in the trailer?
Spoiler:Kinda looked like him and since Darabont is a collector maybe it was a homage?
I've gotta say I was pretty underwhelmed. I loved the first season, but this episode seemed to be a step-down in terms of story and acting. Maybe if it wasn't spread out to a 90 minute premiere, but there seemed to be a lot of 'filler' in this episode. I understand they have to continue the character arcs but the stuff with Lori and Shane feels a little dragged on at this point. Some of the acting was downright bad I thought too, like Rick's opening 'monologue'. The scene in the bathroom with the walker was very cliched too.
I don't know how much of this was Darabont before he got canned, but I definitely am worried where the show is heading without him.
I also wanted to mention that Dale is awesome, and Lori is hot, but 1000x hotter when she talks.
Wonder what the story is behind Shane's shaved head in all the following weeks previews.

I felt the same way. It was enjoyable enough, and had a few great moments here or there (I personally really liked the part where they opened up that one zombie's stomach), but nothing that felt nearly as rewarding as your typical episode of Breaking Bad. But then, that's probably not a fair comparison.kinda thought it was a let down for a season debut. not much happened.
maybe it's that I'm still on the Breaking Bad high from last week.
Spoiler:and see how the show tackles Hershel's farm
Maybe they crash landed on a lice infested planet?
But seriously. Loved it, and glad the long wait is over.
I'm gonna take a guess...
Spoiler:Sophia is at the house where they take Carl, in next week's preview.
Spoiler:No, I think she and Carl are both going to die. The biggest problem TV shows that don't progess in time at the same rate as reality is that kids get too old too fast. Remember Walt on Lost? So they need to find a way to get rid of them or start clocking off the months pretty quickly. So the easiest thing to do will be have Carl die and never find Sophia, or else just find her remains.
My guess:

Spoiler:There're so many sitcoms that've used the same child actors for years and years. At some point they'll have to do a time lapse. I know it's a television show and even Kirkman's said anything goes, but I honestly don't think they'll kill either. They'll likely use Carl to justify Hershall's farm for a few episodes while they look for Sophia and then get the series on the road again to wind up at the prison by Season's end.

Spoiler:While I think Carol will probably die by seasons end, I doubt they'll kill off Sofia, at least just yet. I agree with the poster above is she's probably at the Hershal farm. Another small possibility is she got caught by Merle who I have a hunch has been stalking the group. Speaking of Dixon, I wounder what happened to Daryl. In one of the previews it showed Rick and Shane carrying him while he's unconscious. I hope they don't kill him off this season.

Spoiler:I honestly cannot see them going that far away from the comics, at least with some of the major characters. I know they did it with Shane so far but I cannot see them killing off Carl.
