He's no different really, at least his costume was different from ESB to ROTJ. Was there any difference in Phasma's?

This movie is as useless as Bb-9e, a droid who just identifies bb-8 and doesn’t do anything

I was ok with force ghost and lightning......physically bonking Luke in the head with his walking stick was interesting.

Did I just watch a ****ing movie whose sole entire premise was built upon the fact that the BAD GUYS WERE UNABLE TO CATCH UP TO THE GOOD GUYS!

Did they really keep cutting back to the dumbest chase in cinema history!

Btw BattleStar Galatica did that idea much better.

I’m just trolling there’s alot I absolutely did LOVE in this movie.

It actually got alot more right than wrong but the wrong are definately head scratchers.

Oh man... Love??? There are some parts to love but as a whole this film was very empty.

I loved Luke, Rey, and Kylo story points... But really this was just Kylo's movie.. Nothing really happened that moved the story forward with the other characters..

Poe, Finn, the Rebels.. Nothing of interest happened with them.. At all. Poe and Finn could have not been in this film and the plot would have ended up in the same place...

The film wastes your time with plots that go nowhere. If Finn never left nothing changes... If Poe never wants to take over command.. nothing changes.. They all end up on that Planet... I guess getting Del Torro was the only reason for that "adventure" so he could let the first order know where the escape pods were going.. But he did not need to be there..

The Casino planet scene was painful.. Worst scenes in any star wars films.. Stupid and awful.. Just an excuse to preach at us about rich people being evil... Even in a Galaxy far far away...

And then there is this character...

**** this ****ing character... AWFUL!!! Give me 10 Jar Jar's any day over this Rose chick... A Social Justice Warrior.. Great just what a Star Wars film needs.. Just awful... She did not look like someone who should be in a Star Wars film... She was annoying... and ultimately, just like the Casino sub plot, served no purpose to the film at all.

Her character and all plot points that she was a part of almost ruined the rest of the film for me.. I thought the film might have some balls and kill Finn (might as well if this is the best they are going to do with his character) but she actually puts the rebellion in danger with her stupid.. Don't fight people you hate.. Save people you love moment..

Then the film ****ed with me and let me believe she died... I would have been able to handle her with repeat viewings if she was dead.. But nope.. I get to look forward to her no chemistry relationship with Finn in the last film..


But there were things I liked.. Kylo and Luke being the main two.. Snoke biting the dust was no issue for me as I thought it was cool and I was never a fan.. Though he was pretty great in this film... Phasma getting killed was great as I hated her character.. Giving no background for him though was lazy..

Speaking of Lazy... I am still trying to find out how Maz got luke's saber.. Guess thats still a story for another day..


I also hated all the 15 year old female pilots... Guess Disney is hoping to sell more toys to little girls..


Overall I liked in more then TFA but that is not high praise from me.. In all honesty I think these films are not all that much better then the PT story wise.. Better made yes.. But story wise.. We got a remake of ANH and a film that really did not do hardly anything to move the story forward other then for Kylo..

Luke started first with an attempt to redeem his Dad despite many warning that it was impossible and only switched to being aggressive after being provoked with threats on his friends and family.

With Kylo, his first thought at seeing just the potential for darkness in him was to murder him in his sleep.

The impression I got was that this was more than just a "potential" for darkness, and that Luke actually saw something much more powerful and terrifying in Kylo's future. Which is what caused him to react the way he did.

Open film with goal of trying to escape FO fleet, middle of film has goal of trying to escape reappearing FO fleet, end of film with goal of trying to escape reappearing FO forces.

We wait over 30 years to see the return of our childhood hero Luke Skywalker and they showing him moping around and milking an alien’s boob for lunch.

Harsh review but I kind of agree with him in some way. Never been this conflicted about a film before.

This review hit all the points for me. I just don’t care anymore - about any of it. Great review.

Rose is the new Jar Jar in my book.

Yes!! Except Jar Jar was better.

I cannot believe the hate this movie is getting. The same people who complained about TFA and saying the next will be repackaged Empire are now saying " Last Jedi isn't what I wanted out of a middle chapter of a Star Wars movie" and "Rian Johnson didn't do what I wanted!"

My issues were not with the changes.. I liked some of the directions the film took and the refusal to meet some expectations story wise.. But its a long movie with very little story..

Boo hoo. Jeez....Johnson took the characters and the story in an unexpected and new direction. I personally don't agree with every decision he made, but I also think Anakin's turn to the dark side was poorly executed and I still love ROTS. I hate how the Empire were defeated by dang Ewoks. For everything there is to complain about, there is the handling of Kylo Ren's story. How he viewed his Master/Uncle turning on him and almost murdered him in his sleep. There is the opening space battle and the handling of Poe Dameron's character and his rise to being a leader. There is Rey's revelation (or accepting) that she came from nowhere which is an unexpected and welcome twist for me. This movie was about pushing these characters in ways that challenge and change them.

Poe never becomes he leader... He tries but is proven the fool.

Now I don't care for Canto Bight, the stupid bacta suit gag, honestly the handling of Finn all around. And I would have liked backstory for Snoke. Maybe just a brief section where he explains how he learned the dark side or explained how he even contacted young Ben Solo to seduce him. I didn't care Luke milking the stupid ant eater creature.

Very frustrated how they treated Finn in this film.. Poe was not given much to do either but they did not team him up with Rose so that made everything he did in the film better.

But man I cannot believe the absolute hate from fans crying they didn't do what you wanted them to do. Talk about self entitled and impossible to please. My oldest brother came with me last night and he is the one who got me into SW at such an early age I can't remember not being a fan. He hated it also, but he just said "these movies are no longer made for me. This is Disney wanting to broaden the story so they can keep making SW movies. But I'm out and will just hold onto the originals". He wasn't angry or loudly complaining, he just realized he's almost 50 and new SW movies are going to expand beyond the Skywalker's eventually.

Again for me personally it goes back to the fact that 80% of the plot of this film was uneventful.

I did not hate it but the more I think about it the more I marvel at the fact that this film could have been completed in about an hour and 20 min instead of the 2 hours and 30min it took to really go nowhere.

From the Phasma toy thread. Seems like the difference are more like Vader in the OT more than Fett in ESB/ROTJ. Physically, at least.

The differences are:
Phasma's chrome armour isn't weathered, it's new
Her shin armour is new
Her finger armour is new
Her armour closures are curved
Handplates are different
Her belt no longer has any cloth on pouches, all chrome
Her knee plates now face the opposite way
Her toe and ankle armour has some changes too
Her spear
Her spear collapses to attach to her waist
Her gold blaster is now silver
She also has a small blaster pistol that attaches to her thigh

Maybe, but you would have thought he would have given his nephew the benefit of the doubt of acting on it before attempting to murder him.
Especially considering that he gave Darth Vader a pretty significant amount of leeway in what he considered beyond redemption.

Just gutted.

WTF was Disney thinking? So boring, very boring movie. Rose was a complete SJW/inclusive move just like i called way back when. Doesn't even look like she belongs in the SW universe.(was just casted cause she was Asian) I was excited to have Rian Johnson direct this, but boy was i fooled. He makes JJ look like a genius. This did not even feel like a SW movie, and i WANTED something different, i was expecting it.

She was truly the worst character in any SW film.

Space battles completely boring.

I liked the first one.. Were there any others?? Just chasing and shooting..

Kylo and Rey were good

I think RO is a freaking masterpiece compared to this film.. I did not find it as boring as you did but it was defiantly uneventful.

I don't know how JJ can even help recover this. I thought TFA was a great start, and this movie had great potential WTH!
How did Disney give this guy 3 films?

I did not care for TFA and actually like this one better.. But only because I liked Luke, Kylo, and Rey's moments in this film.. TFA really did not do much for me at all.
