“Scream Queens,” Ryan Murphy’s new horror-comedy anthology series, has tapped Emma Roberts and Jamie Lee Curtis as its first two cast members, Variety has confirmed.

The project, which has landed a straight-to-series order from Fox, is designed as an anthology series revolving around two female leads each season, with the first season focused on activity at a college campus rocked by a series of murders.

Roberts is well-suited for the series as a veteran of Murphy’s “American Horror Story” franchise, having appeared in “Coven” and “Freakshow.” Curtis has made her own mark in the horror genre with her roles in “Halloween,” “The Fog” and “Prom Night.”

Fox has ordered 15 episodes of “Scream Queens” for a premiere next fall. Murphy serves as co-creator alongside “Glee” collaborators Ian Brennan and Brad Falchuck, who is also co-creator of “American Horror Story.”

I thought this was referencing that reality show years ago when girls compete for a role in a horror film (I think it was the Saw films) and James Gunn was directing all their "auditions." :lol
