Well I just snagged one from a fellow freak, and I had a refund from something I had on order so I may out pretty good on the price. I really hate I didn't get it at release, at the time I wasn't into collecting quite yet and It was about $200 for the longest time :lol

I love this head sculpt comparison, The Skull! I still like the Origins figure overall compared to the other two but that's just my opinion. I purchased Origins via Sideshow when it first came out but I've never taken him out of the box since I don't know how to display him (I don't like displaying a figure alone). I was hoping to purchase the Last Stand figure to display with it but I just wasn't sold on it...and still unsure about The Wolverine. Looks as if Origins is just gonna have to stay in the box for a while longer.

Congrats Plissken:hi5:

Glad you like it, yeah origins is still the coolest, last stand is the most iconic and this new one brings to best accessories. As far as a companion piece there's a lots of ways to go, you could put him next to another wolverine or if you want to stick with the movie theme you could bash a Victor Creed, gambit or deadpool, other than that any other marvel piece could work like spiderman or punisher. Ether way his display presents will only fade with time so you might as well crack that bad boy out of the box, unless your a MIB collector.

Thanks for the helpful hints. I could barely dress myself so bashing is out of the question but I'll keep a look out for other Marvel characters. I saw a pic of him displayed with a Harley (not exactly the bike in the movie but a Harley all the same) and thought that might be the way to go but since he's still in the box... out-of-sight, out-of-mind!

I have displayed pretty much everything that I have purchased (nor have I ever sold anything) except for a couple of items that I don't know how to display just yet. I thought of selling Wolverine at one point but he's so preeeeeety! Hahaha! (Yeah, I'm a female!)

Congrats Plissken:hi5:

Sculpt comparisons show how,far away the are from nailing Hugh BUT I wouldn't trade a one of em....I love my Wolvies...

Displaying him on a Harley is actually a cool idea, here's an indian which is closer to what he drove in the movie but still not exactly accurate ether but still cool.

Thanks for the link, The Skull! I know I gotta break him out of his FOUR-year:horror "boxed" prison soon; otherwise, he may stay imprisoned in the back of the closet forever collecting dust... along with a RAH Magneto I received as a "free" gift from Sideshow years ago. I initially thought of commissioning someone to make Magneto presentable for displaying with Wolverine but I just can't see it ever being up to par. Yeah, I've spent the last four years scratching my head wondering "what to do, what to do?!"
NOTE: Most of my collectibles are statues (except for some Star Wars and the Dead) that were mainly purchased in pairs for display purposes so I've never had problems figuring out the display situation... until now! Wolverine was purchased on a whim just because he was prrrretty. Hahaha!

And yeah, Darkseed, it's been very difficult for me to even consider parting with him (which I almost did a couple years back) but whenever I see this and other Wolvie threads, they make me feel unworthy of owning him. :(
But then again, I keep coming back to the thread to see more pics and get displaying ideas.:)

Totally agree~!! :exactly::exactly::exactly:

I recently purchased what was billed as the Hot Toys MMS 103 X-Men Origins Wolverine from ebay seller everyday991371; it arrived today, and unfortunately, it appears to be the bootleg that has been making the rounds for the last couple of years. I used PayPal, so I've already opened a case, and I know I'll get my money back, but its disappointing to say the least. The figure looks pretty close, but there were a few "tells" that indicate its a fake:

-stand logo was solid white, whereas the real deal has a gradient color scheme with gray, white, and silver, IIRC
-stand nameplate pops off, where the authentic Hot Toys one is glued down
-wife beater undershirt is too short
-body instruction sheet looks photocopied, and is vacuum-sealed in flimsy plastic (every Hot Toys instruction sheet I've ever seen is in a plastic bag that is taped shut)
-face is overly tan and the beard/mutton chops poorly painted
-side photo seems grainy
-"shipper" box was tape-sealed along the long ends with no contents description (every single figure Hot Toys shipper I've seen is taped along the short ends)
-product box lid is very dark, the Hot Toys logos in the bottom corners are barely visible
-jeans fit poorly and seem too dark in person (they photograph lighter)

I took some photos, sorry for the crappy quality:

So, thoughts ? Definitely a bootleg? As I say, I'm protected thanks to PayPal, wish I'd just waited for one to pop up in the sales thread here. :slap

Cant say from the pic but from your description, yeah it is bootleg. How much you got? Bootleg is also hard to get nowadays but well, it is not worth it too.....hope you find solution.

*update on the MMS 103 bootleg*

All's well that ends well; I returned the figure, and received all my money back, including shipping both ways. I purchased another one from a US seller, received it a couple of days ago, and I'm happy to report it is 100% authentic! The difference is really apparent in-hand; the bootleg just didn't look right, the head paint was substandard, and the clothing, while close, just looked cheap, not what you'd expect from an authentic Hot Toys figure. I'm really impressed with the actual Hot Toys MMS 103; while the likeness isn't 100%, overall it's just a tremendous figure.
For anyone still interested in picking this one up, I'd recommend avoiding any eBay auctions from China offering sealed/new figures. You're much better off dealing with board members here, or looking for a used figure on eBay from a reliable seller.

I hit some financial hardship so i need to sell all my HTs including Wolverine. If anyone is interested, please PM me. I need the money asap! Thanks!

If anyone has or knows where I can get one of these brown jackets relatively cheap (doesn't even need to be official HT) or in a trade please let me know. Thanks!

Don't have a link but ebay has knockoffs that I've heard are great quality. I think they run about $40 from Hong Kong.

I wish you all the best, buddy. Goodluck with your sale.

Why in the world wouldn't you leave this guy bad feedback then?? I bid on a wolverine origins figure from this seller and won it this morning, but had a funny feeling so I seached his username and came across this forum. I have not sent any $$ yet but one reason I felt confident was I saw he had been selling these figures for some time now and no one has left him bad feedback about it. I'm probably stupid but I didn't know there were so many bootlegs of these out there, I thought maybe someone had been sitting on many new figures or were recently discovered. I am new to collecting these so there is a lot I don't know. I am going to write the seller and share my concerns and try to just cancel the sale. I have a few never opened hot toys crow and mechanic figures to trade and will be looking for a real wolverine figure, thanks.
