Producers Guillermo del Toro (“Pan’s Labyrinth,” “The Orphanage”) and Mark Johnson (“Chronicles of Narnia”) join forces to deliver “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,” a tale of hair-raising, spine-chilling horror.

Sally Hurst (Bailee Madison), a lonely, withdrawn child, has just arrived in Rhode Island to live with her father Alex (Guy Pearce) and his new girlfriend Kim (Katie Holmes) at the 19th-century mansion they are restoring. While exploring the sprawling estate, the young girl discovers a hidden basement, undisturbed since the strange disappearance of the mansion’s builder a century ago. When Sally unwittingly lets loose a race of ancient, dark-dwelling creatures who conspire to drag her down into the mysterious house’s bottomless depths, she must convince Alex and Kim that it’s not a fantasy—before the evil lurking in the dark consumes them all.

When a little girl (Bailee Madison) is sent to live with her father (Guy Pearce) and his girlfriend (Katie Holmes) in the old mansion they are renovating, she unwittingly unleashes malevolent creatures bent on destroying all of them.

The panel was amazing - we saw about the first 5 mins or so :hi5:, this will be a creepy movie! :horror

Looks like its gonna be great!

Hate that Katie Holmes is in it :)yuck)......But still really looking forward to it :rock :rock :rock

Love the orignal , I remember a few years ago having a hard time tracking it down on dvd , with the release of this I'm sure it will be put out everywhere now. :slap:lol
The trailer looks great , not so sure on the cgi but we'll see.

Still not sure on the cgi with this , I don't think it was completely necessary to use it as often as it seems to be shown.
I'm looking forward to it but the original had something creepy to it this seems to be missing from what's been shown.

I think nowadays to much thought is put into creature design , they should keep them simpler looking , they tend to get carried away imo.

looks ten times creepier and realistic to me than this LOTR bat troll :.

Looks effective to me. I'd ____ my pants if I saw that thing in my bed.

I saw the teaser that included that last shot before Insidious and the audience seemed to agree. :horror

they look like mutated spider monkeys, but the overall atmosphere of the trailer was really good.

l would rather see Del Toro get his ass moving on Hell Boy 3 before Ron Perlman needs a walker.

I agree, unfortunately Perlman does not feel the same way. He's not interested. But GDT has stated that he'll give anyone who asks a 1 minute synopsis of what HB3 would have been if you meet him at a con.
