Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Me too sfa! Ivy is on of my favorite BTAS villains! She is no 2 on the poll at the moment and I hope they will make her soon!! (Still don't get why Ventriloquist is No1 over Ivy, Freeze, Zatanna and Bane)

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Hi, everyone!

After studying Zelu's fantastic Catwoman repaint, I decided to sort of do the same on mine.

I'm pretty happy with the result. Hope you guys like it, too.

Ivy, Freeze & Ventriloquist are my top wants from the list, but aside from the TDKR ones I pretty much want them all!

Reading the text with the poll kinda makes it seem like maybe none of those characters have been sculpted yet, (since we're picking who we'd like to see most in a future wave) or at the least are in unfinished proto stages, but hopefully they'll get around to making them all eventually. I can't see them NOT making Ivy or Freeze. But yeah, definitely looking forward to BTAS Ivy and hopefully won't be too long until we see her!

Looks great! Awesome work on the eyes there.

Those holes though.... UGH! I really hope DCC have managed to get rid of those from wave 2 and onward.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Thank you, Zelu and sfa!

I was really afraid of doing such a massive fixup on the eyes.
But as I always fix minor issues on my figures with color pencils (yes! LOL), if I did something wrong, I'd just have to apply some water and... "back to normal". LOL

As for the holes, getting rid of them is beyond what I can do. :rotfl
But looking to the figure as a whole, they really don't bother me at the end of the day...

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

yeah I think non of the figures in the poll has been sculpted yet, so that makes me think we might see TNBA Nightwing, TNBA Mad Hatter and TAS Two Face/Ra's or Talia together with TNBA Scarecrow

I do want the Ventriloquist as well but he would defo be after Ivy, Freeze and Zatanna. I would also like to see Clayface, Scarecrow and Batgirl from BTAS

bdw guys, does anyone have a spare broken Catwoman or Batman figure? I would use it for a custom :)

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

The first four waves have three males from either BTAS or TNBA and one female from the opposite, so if that trend continues then we should expect to see a female from BTAS in wave 5, with three males from TNBA.

So your guess about Talia could be correct Zelu! Either her or Batgirl (possibly unlikely since she's in wave 4 - although Robin is in 2&3), Ivy (maybe not considering the poll), or Red Claw (who I really hope they make!).

For the TNBA males I think you could be right about Nightwing. Then obviously we have Scarecrow, which leaves room for one more. My guess would be either Mad Hatter or Bane.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Thanks sfa and batsheva :) Yeah i did few old school BATS customs in the past :p

and yeah this must be BTAS Batmobile! :D Good point about the lights batfan08! It would be awesome ^^

Oh wow! That's you?! I'm a big fan of your figures, I've seen them online. Really great work :clap :)

Since some people are having trouble seeing the BTAS Batmobile in that silhouette, I thought I'd take a few pictures to try and help.

In the last picture I didn't quite get the angle right (after many tries) to accurately overlay onto the image. If I'd had more time I would've got there I think. The photo needs to come from a lower angle toward the Batmobile canopy. Anyway, you get the idea with it!

To me, it can't be anything else other than the BTAS Batmobile. I just hope it's for the 6" line and not a statue or something, but since they just revealed Roxy & Rocket (and they stated "vehicles aren't off the table" in reply to questions about a Batmobile for 6" figures) I'm happily assuming it is for the BTAS line. :D

Thanks! Now I see it :D

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

haha thanks The Clown Prince of Crime, I'm glad you like them :)

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

You're more than welcome! :) I really do love your Ivy's. Hopefully DCC can capture her BTAS likeness well. That's one figure I'm very much looking forward to from them.

As for the (possible) DCC Batmobile, it'd be really cool if it did have light up features, although I'd worry that might boost up the price a lot. I'm thinking it would be costly even without light up features since it would be huge, especially considering Roxy's rocket is 12 inches long. The Batmobile would have the potential to be about 25-30 inches long maybe?

I'm betting it will have lights since Roxy's Rocket has lights....

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Recent update from DCC with regards to the QC issues and delayed release on the rest of the animated figures:
We received fan questions asking about quality issues with DC Collectibles product, so we wanted to take a moment to give you a look at where we are and what we are doing going forward.

Some fans have mentioned damaged product or brittle parts with our Batman Animated action figure line. We are currently evaluating the production process for these action figures and have instituted some additional reviews in order to improve and catch any quality issues. Be reassured that quality will be improving going forward.

For those of you more interested in specifics, here are some details. We have traditionally used a polycarbonate for smaller joints on our plastic action figures. This is sometimes referred to as the “clear plastic.” Based on our early reviews of samples sent from the factories the products held up under testing. Since then, however, in part as a result of fan feedback that we received, it has become clear that we can make the smaller joints in our action figures even stronger.

Starting with most products in 2015, we are upgrading to POM (aka polyoxymethylene) for those joints previously made in polycarbonate. This is a stronger plastic that allows it to be molded in a color instead of clear. We have heard from our fans loud and clear that this is the number one issue for our action figures.

We will continue to use PVC (aka polyvinyl chloride) for the larger size joints (such as elbows and knees), ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) for harder plastics and on a case by case basis, we will be thickening the size of very small joints. This may affect some of the aesthetic look of the small Batman Animated characters but we feel the balance between look and quality will be appropriate.

In addition to the material change, we have changed our quality review process and extended our production timeline to ensure we can deliver the best products.

Wow! That was a lot of long sounding words! But hopefully this background information helps reinforce to you, our fans, that we are dedicated to improving our product so that you have the best experience possible. And we want to make sure we’re always improving. You can help us by sending your feedback to our e-mail address: [email protected]

They go on to say because of the changes being made with their quality control, wave 2 of the Batman: The Animated figures will be delayed.

We also have updates on the announced series of action figures. Because of the new changes to our quality control, we have delayed Wave 2 of the Batman Animated figures. The new plan is to have the Joker, Man-Bat and Robin release in March of 2015. Poison Ivy will be released later in 2015 as we want to be sure that her smaller joints are working perfectly. Wave 3A will now feature Killer Croc and the Creeper and will release in May 2015 while Wave 3B will feature Poison Ivy, Robin (from The New Batman Adventures) and Harley Quinn and release in June 2015.

We understand delaying the product causes frustration, but want to make sure you’re getting the best quality and are able to enjoy the figures to the fullest!

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

About the waves...

So, Wave 2 and 3 have been mixed up as follows:

March - Joker, Robin and Man-Bat (all wave 2)

May - Killer Croc and Creeper (wave 3)

June - Harley Quinn (wave 3), Poison Ivy (wave 2) and Robin (wave 3)

What about wave 4? July? August?

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I think we'll see wave 4 in January 2016.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Interesting read about the product materials.

Just got my first figure in- Batman:. Great, great figure. Used the hair dryer to loosen the joints- no problems with this or the paint aps. I'm in for this line. Normally I'm a MIB type collector for this scale, but not for this line these are fun to pose and display.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

With all the QC issues being solved, this line will be poised to be the biggest action figure line of 2015. :yess:

It was already the best-selling AF line of last November. :clap

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I went further on Catwoman's eyes repaint.

I was still finding them too closed, so I decided to "open up them".
