Haha, I know. GI joe and other 1/18th bodies are much too small though. It'll have to do until they make/if they ever make a different version or a Liquid Snake.

Snaaaake! Please forgive the low quality pics. It's late and Guardians of the Galaxy was awesome. Cardboard box delivered from Japan today: Jeep: Cargo Truck: *Knock* *knock*

I painted a rectangular piece of plastic with a background of Citadel Ice Blue paint mixed with white and an inner oval of the same colors but with a greater white:ice blue ratio.

Thanks! The Mk. III isn't a perfect 1/48 scale but he is definitely nowhere near 1/6 scale. Here's a pic with RAH Old Snake to put the scale into perspective:

Never got around to posting pictures of my custom and weathered 1/48 scale hellfire missiles for REX: In action with Old Snake and my 100% original and sculpted Mk. III and Raiden:

Contact 3A customer service through email about the broken balljoint for the radome. The same thing happened to me and all I had to do was explain what happened, provide pictures and mail it off to them. Their customer service was top notch.

Try placing it under a blow dryer for about 30 seconds at a time. If that doesn't work, give a few minutes in the freezer a try. Either of those options usually do the trick for most stuck joints.

Yeah, just cut a small piece of thin plastic little by little until there's just enough friction on the sides to keep it from falling out. Btw there's actually a small slot inside the top part of the nose that the plastic can also slide and secure into. Use thin layers of paint or it might get...

Glad to hear people who ordered the retail version of REX are FINALLY getting confirmation and shipping! :duff I look forward to seeing all the different poses and customs! Btw here's a look at the AT/hellfire missiles I've been working on with weathering and degradation (I'm assuming they've...

I wasn't sure how much of the armor was meant to come off but several minutes of some slow, careful prying and pulling evenly at each edge did the trick. I never attached the railgun because I always planned on having the MGS4 configuration since REX has a worn-down dirty paint job; that, and...

I just checked and you can remove all the armor from the leg strut except for the piece that is on the very tip:

Thanks! I painted a plastic insert to make the nose light appear accurate, and it's also completely removable! If by hip stabilizer you mean that armored panel that hangs on the side of the leg, I turned the armor slowly back and forth while applying firm, steady pressure to pull it off at the...

The focus of this thread really got off track... Here is my attempt at redirecting it! Custom, scratch-built Raiden and MK. III. I'm planning on some AT rockets and laser beam next... Can't wait for RAY!!

1/48 pilot build for 3A Metal Gear REX

I've never used Green Stuff but Aves Apoxie Sculpt (2-part self-curing/hardening) worked great for my 1/48 Mk.III an Raiden!

Haha thanks. My first time really sculpting and I'm pretty satisfied. I used Aves Apoxie Sculpt and it takes a LOT of patience to wait for it to reach the perfect consistency/cure time for general sculpting and smoothing with solvent, then fine detailing. Add on to that the time for...
