The movies were pretty good, done as well as humanly possible....but they are not nearly as great and powerful as the books.

Yea, I see your point. My point is that most of the older items still go for several times their retail value even if the top range has fluctuated up and down. I don't see that happening with any of the PF's. As a side note...the Elessar statue is fantastic and at only 3K copies I am...

The Stone Trolls will do well too.....oh wait...they never dropped in value in the first place have they? Neither has the Bilbo statue for that matter. Most, if not all, of the earlier (low edition) SS/WETA polystone items have held their high values well...you just don't see them on EBAY very...

Agreed. WETA will likely be stand alone on the Hobbit collectibles. I can't wait to see what they come up with....ie...SMAUG!

I have most of the SS/WETA statues and all of the busts. I do not collectm the PF's. I do collect the dio's though. It is pretty much polystone only for me. I'm looking forward to see what The Hobbit brings.

John Howe in addition to being a great artist is also a very nice fellow. Everytime I've ever emailed his website he has taken the time to respond. I wish I could go to SDCC this year and meet him in person.

At least we have a healthy range of opinions here:lol. The Battle Above the Black Gates Dio made me yawn but I actually like this Dark Council Dio alot. To each their own.:rolleyes:
