Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

It is becoming a point of endless frustration for me having to look at that sculpt with the hat and then having to come to terms with the fact that, of those they can reuse, they're giving us monkey boy down on the right, there, instead of a hatless version of the far superior new version.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I like action figures that spark my imagination. What can I build around them and how much fun i can have setting up scenes with them. These expression packs really have brought the line back to life for me. My interest had been waning, mainly due to there really not being many figures to look forward to.

Joker and Harley packs are definitely one of the very few highlights of this years SDCC.

I look at the Jokermobile and I picture Bullock and Gordon in the back seat, Bud and Lou growling angrily at any intent they might have to make a move, Harley grabbing the wheel from the passenger's seat with the scared look on her face, while Joker hangs out the window with that maniacal laugh from the top left on his face as he fires off his tommy gun at the Batmobile, which is in hot pursuit.

Yeah, these expressions packs are gonna be fun.:lol

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Are they running out of ideas..barely anything was featured at SDCC :dunno

Im usually very critic about this line, especially about articulations xD, but in this case I disagree with you. The Joker expression pack looks very awesome IMO. All the heads are fantastic. True, the standard expression should be updated. But I don't see it as a big letdown since they added a lot of cool stuff. I don't get why complain this time, a single head can't ruin all the other awesome stuff is in the set. I repeat, is just my opinion, I respect your :)

What I can't understand is this line policy... Firstable thanks to Zelu for the pics and the update about the line. But according to what you said there is really something wrong in here.. o_O
They keep to say: "we see how sells go and then decide if continue". Then why made weird multi packs that cost a lot? Why do vehicles that no one really want? (even if the Jokermobile looks awesome is an easy pass for me). If they wanna sell good they should focus on main characters we all want! Like damn TwoFace and Scarecrow! And TNBA? Is that finished? IDK guys.. It's sad to say but it looks like they're tryin to "make end" this line doing weird choices... Let me know what you think people, maybe I'm just the only one who see things this way xDDDD

Oh! Hope the message is clear, forgive my bad english people xDD

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

They're looking for sales right now over anything else, so the thought process is probably that anything HQ and Joker will sell over say, a Rupert Thorne figure. So we get an big effing vehicle that had a few seconds of screen time, just because it's Joker related. I hope it sells to extend the line, but I can't imagine many people actually buying it. But I've been wrong before.

I think you're right....

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Guys...today it's arrived my Btas Batmobile Normal version (not deluxe)...I want know if Dc have done only a production or there are difference in plastic quality in this years. The plastic of my Batmobile it is not good..but a little poor and against the light there are little scratches (for example where the folding top runs ahead!).

I'm pretty sure the deluxe edition came with those scratches too.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

The question to ask is WHY DCC's management wants to lean toward statues over action figures. The most obvious answer is money; statues make a lot more profit than action figures. So if they can get statue money out of the action figure collectors –*which is exactly what they're trying to do with 5-packs and vehicles –*this line has a future.

I also hate the 5 packs as it's hard enough getting decent paint apps on 1 fig let alone 5 in the same pack. Good luck.

I'd tend to agree except that the "Girl's Night Out" 5-pack was generally praised for have paint apps superior to the individual figure releases.

I believe that it would have made far more business sense to simply released the Batcycle. I could easily picture the second
most frequently utilized vehicle in BTAS with helmeted Batman and Robin heads selling twice the amount among collectors.
A Rupert Thorne figure could also be easily sold with Two-Face 2-pack. While I like the Jokermobile (and will likely buy it) it
is a huge gamble given the miniscule screen time it had on the show.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

The Jokermobile is huge. It's not going to sell well. Dunno what they were thinking when stores are sitting on tons of Batmobiles and Batwings. I'll bet money that the Jokermobile doesn't see an actual release, and if it does, few will buy it.

Two-Face and Scarecrow are long over due. Just do them already.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I can't see the Jokermobile selling well either. I would have much rather seen the Batcycle--especially since I think it'd be an easy buy for a lot of collectors.

We're all waiting for them... they need to take a hint.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

The Jokermobile will be the first thing from this line I don't buy.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Who wants to pay $50 for a Batcycle? Because it seems like DCC no longer offers anything below that pricepoint in this line.

That's what's driving the decisions now, folks; MSRP.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Thanks Zelu!!! That is great to know. And, well, if that's how things are shifting at DCC I think guys, it's time to push back and help.

Could we, should we start a polite campaign making them aware of how their captive market is willing to contribute?

They haven't used mechanisms like polling the collecting community to see what type of figures or what specific characters would mean higher sale numbers, that could help them push back. This is a company with less corporate bureaucracies than at Mattel or Hasbro, and these interactive models have worked very well for the latter (Mattel is beyond help.)

What do you guys think? Would it help? Could we come together to do it?

Spoke to Kevin and also saw him on Julius Marx's panel...the only good way to send a message to the higher ups are PRE-ORDERS!!! Wherever you buy figures, comic shops, Amazon, online retailers wherever. The propensity to wait unti something is released is taking its toll. Since these guys' sales model is different than Hot Toys and Sideshow, the only gauge they have to know what's popular is pre-orders. If the POs are low, they assume there's little interest in the lines regardless of what's sold after production because by the time the figures hit, the decision to move forward or not has already been made.

Not saying you should buy what you don't want, just saying you should PO the things you do. $$$ is the only thing the bean counters care about.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Then maybe they should offer figures everyone is demanding instead of variants and obscure vehicles.
