LOL... Yeah I definitely have thought about that. I actually could get some of my low end tools if I did that, but believe it or not if I got the tool I would like to I wouldn't even be able to afford the JSC Com.

Deeeew Eeeeeet....... NOT!!!!. :horror

gonna keep Mr. Green's original spidey com ex, EX!! muahahahaaa

still the best spidey

There's a couple guys on the FB groups showing their JSC Spidey was developing a lean. I was almost on the fence on this one, but that pushed me to a firm "no."

I know this has come up ALOT, and the point being at about 5 bills we shouldnt have to worry about, much less end up with, a leaning PF. Regardless, I will most likely install a fish eye screw with fishing line or black thread into the Besta attaching it to the bend in his knee to prevent possible leaning.

'Developing' a lean???

Meaning the magnets are loosing their touch or the piece is actually bending. I'd be curious to see this.

Probably this guy(from a FB-group)

:lol how has no one swapped him already :panic: :lol

I'm glad I was sitting on the toilet when I read that post.

Anywhere else would have spelled disaster for my underwear. :lol

I sometimes fail to see how people make these jumps like this in terms of collector value. I guess my hat goes off to the person for reaching for the stars, but come on....that's a slap in the face to long time collectors, like myself, IMO. I don't own Doom, but even I was somewhat offended. :lol

As in the wall is starting to lean forward. Not my pic, but here you go:

I own the XM Mags...I got a laugh out of it.

Exactly. And same for XM Mags. Again, I don't own it, but that really is a masterpiece based on the numerous pics I've seen. Cannot find one flaw, IMO. And to ask someone to trade for THAT....The Black Widow piece looks great...but it's not THAT kind of great.

That is not good. I was even worried about the 1st Spidey COM having an issue like this. I'm happy to say I've had it displayed for years and have no issues. Today's pieces have so many corners cut to increase profits that I always worry about how these statues will hold up over time. Especially ones like this new Spidey PF.

Damn it! Now I feel compelled to make a brace or bracket of some kind to prevent this lean from happening to mine. Mine is not leaning, but I don't want to take the chance. WTF!

Well that's not cool.

Risk of ruining the paint over time?

Thats why I'm glad Alex said they're putting steel rods in this new Spidey

Im open to suggestions. However, being static I dont see the potential for wearing.
To clarify, the "Well that's not cool" comment was for the leaning JSC Spidey.

I have no suggestions on how to prevent leaning. I want SSC to simply figure it out during production so we don't have to :lol

Have you looked at this statue from all the angles they show?
Where do you see them putting a steel rod in?

here's the problem as I see it-
The effectiveness of any rod support is limited to diameter (which here is determined by how much space in the wrist will allow a straight rod to pass) and by it's unbroken length.

300201-the-amazing-spider-man-07.jpg

Trace a straight line down through the arm and exit where the wrist joins the palm. how far can that rod extend in a straight unbroken, un-bent line?

And even if they are able to put in a long, angled rod up through the girder and up through the arm, you are still going to be creating a stress point at the right shoulder where all the weight of the figure is now going to be supported. This is clearly not a well balanced statue. (although I suspect this is partly the reason for the absurdity of having the legs cross ankled behind him- an ineffectual attempt at balancing. At least that would be the only thing that made sense as far as the leg positioning went)

Visually interesting? Yes. Balanced? No.
If people are seeing problems with relatively simpler designs like the JSC Spider-man and the Superman PF, I find it really hard to swallow that something like this will make past a couple years unscathed.

Oh, and one other thing- Alex said they are trying NOW to put a rod in. That should tell you Supporting this pose properly is an afterthought- something they hope/plan/expect to do- not something that was baked into the design from the get go.

As it was said earlier, the rod would. Extend from the hand down into the base and would travel up the arm and curve into the body. Think of an allen wrench but longer at both ends and curved at the right location. A steel piece that thin going through the body curved down the arm, through hand and into the base could provide the desired support.
