i have to keep telling myself that i have the hot toys figures on PO. i am sorely, sorely tempted by this guy with the news that robin is next.

i just dont have space to display a 1/4 pair.....do i?

How cool would the famous back to back fighting stance with the pair of 1/4 scale batman and robin figures look?!?

Sure you do. I kept telling myself that then read the MC review and folded.

You know what I like most about these? The scale, the durability and the finish makes them ideal toys for adults. Unlike our fragile HTs, which are really only good for display and ocassional handlng, these things are designed for play. And play I will. Oh yes.

Finally finished my mod for the Adam West Batman. I love the proportions/sculpt on this figure, just couldn't stand looking at all the ugly joints.

Modifications include: repainted face, custom gray spandex suit, new custom bat emblem.

Not that many mods... but still took me a while since the entire figure basically had to be disassembled from top to bottom. Also included a pic with my repainted Keaton BM. Hope you guys like it :)

SaigonExpress69, that is incredible work. That bodysuit makes it.

I got one for Christmas and, boy, is it one nice toy. The only thing I am having trouble with is the knee joint. It doesn't seem to want to bend. I am wondering if it just needs pulling out slightly, as it seems the thigh piece is trapping it. I don't want to force it too much for fear of the sound of snapping plastic. Anyone else had the same issue, or am I just being a big wuss and need to give it some force?

Well done ,Saigon! Looks excellent!

Still, I just can't bring myself to throw the money down for either. I think these 1/4 Neca figures are all overpriced.

TheFiend, I would have agreed before I got mine, but this is a plastic toy on another level. The paintwork, the sculpting, the attention to detail, it all makes this worth the money. They have done excellent work on this, and now I can't wait for the release of Robin. Anyone got any more news on this? It's an estimated March release, isn't it?

fantastic work ,i can only agree with the posters who said that youve made this look like a $400 figure and you should sell those suits ,id love to see a step by step tutorial of how you did this ,and a suit if you decide to sell them lol ,again absolutely brilliant work ,you should send pics to neca ,maybe they could do a chris reeve superman this way

Thanks again for all the nice comments! Give NECA credit for the great sculpt!! All I did was cover all the joints :)

As for selling the suit by itself, not sure if that would work since you have to boil the figure in order to take him completely apart to get the suit on. Then you have to glue the figure back together and also secure/glue certain parts of the suit in place. I actually had to make a few suits since they're pretty form fitting and I had a few rip/tear while I was trying to get them on.

I guess it'd be possible for people to send me their figures and I could do the mod for them, but I've never done custom work for anyone before and I seriously doubt I have time to take on the extra work at the moment. Also, my sewing skills are pretty limited. I think a spandex suit is pretty much the most intricate clothes I can make. :lol

I wish I had taken pics while I made the suit, but I was more focused on completing him and getting him back together that I didn't bother to take any progress pics :slap If I ever do decide to do a run of the suit, I think I'd only make a hand full, and you'd have to send me your figure to have the mod done.

And Mau, as far as his knees go, if you dip his leg into hot water and carefully bend his leg, it'll eventually give/bend. Just make sure you're holding onto his shin and not his boot when you're bending, because his boot is actually glued on and will separate if you're not too careful.

Excellent. Thanks for that. I will give it a go.

And I admire your hard work and ingenuity on that project. It really paid off.

Really wonderful work there, my friend. From here it look as good as any PF I've seen. Did you buy the fabric from a store or online? Just for those thinking about doing it.

I got the fabric at a local store. I was about to buy some online, but I wanted to see and feel the fabric before I bought it to make sure it'd work. I'm sure buying online would be fine too. You just need to make sure it's light gray and a stretchy material.

Also, i never mentioned this, but the suit is actually two layers. I made it two layers since the joints were still showing through the suit when it was just one layer. The second layer underneath is black. No real reason for black except I didn't have enough gray fabric, so I ended up using some left over black fabric from my custom EB batman cape that I had laying around.

The added layer softens up the hard corners from the joints and makes the suit look smoother. You can still kind of see his elbow joints and knee joints even with two layers, but a third layer would have been overkill and he'd probably start looking chubby. :lol
