AFAIK Coulson is not a character in the comics, so a revival would be not very damaging to canon. Would SHIELD be willing to let such a useful agent go? Would Fury respect him enough to let dead stay dead? I could easily see both answers being, No.

Actually, Coulson is supposed to be a founding member of the new version of The Secret Avengers slated to start this month, as well as being an ongoing, recurring character in The Ultimate Spider-Man animated series. I don't yet know how close to the movie Coulson the comic character is, but the animated version is very like the Phil in the movie, but a little sillier... Anyway, the character is becoming ever more entrenched in Marvel canon. Marvel isn't stupid, they recognize a fan favorite when one smacks them upside the head, and you can bet they'll ride that pony for as long as it's paying off.

I think there's some indication that Fury regards Coulson as a friend (at least as much a friend as Fury has) and it's clear he respects him as an agent (Level 7, anyone?) - on both counts, Fury would not want Coulson to die.

I got this figure to go with my Iron Man collection. To get all the Avenger figures would of made me homeless.

Hah, this made me think it would be awesome to do a short film showing that Coulson is indeed alive by showing him in New York during the battle basically saving all the Avengers multiple times without them ever knowing it.

It has to be an order placed before Jan.21 2013, can't be an order that's free shipping, you can't use it with reward points, and if you cancel an order you've paid a deposit on to try to reorder, you lose your first deposit and then have to make another second deposit. If you cancel an order on a figure that is sold out thinking you can reorder it and it will go through, you just screwed yourself; it will say it’s out of stock (Don’t cancel that order!)
