Re: WGP's Classic Battlestar Galactica thread (Dragon sized SB and Apollo heads ready

I wish I would have gotten the SS size. I forgot how undersized the Dragon sized ones are to the uniform and body. :(

UPDATES

Just to update, I was informed that Iron Mans replacement heads went out today from the UK. The next batch of replacement heads are supposed to ship out from the caster Dorgmal in our next order shipment to our mail-boy this week which should be the rest of them.

Dorgmal said the thought the necks were fine. I haven't personally held one yet.

I am getting enough people mentioning to me about wanting a non-smiling, serious Starbuck I wanted again encourage people to shout out about that if they want one to add to that interest list. Right now it has two people on it. Since it is a varaint version, we are just looking for 10 interested. :)

First SHOUT OUT (again) Please let us know as soon as possible if this will happen. I don't want to waste even more money getting him painted if the original sculpt is now going to be released.
Second, this is what I was talking about with the necks:

You can see that the necks are longer than a Dragon (which measured the same to the three Sideshow heads on my desk) and would give both Starbuck and Apollo "giraffe neck" syndrome.
I am glad to hear the replacement sculpts have shipped but I was hoping the neck issue would have been addressed, not ignored, before they were.
Regardless it will be good to finally move on and hopefully see Boomer, Baltar, etc ....soon forthcoming.

Re: WGP's Classic Battlestar Galactica thread (Dragon sized SB and Apollo heads ready

Hi Iron Man,
Honestly, the neck issues were not "ignored". I had received multiple PMs and posts from customers that the heads looked great and Dorgmal checked the sizes. No one else had mentioned any issues from many people before you.

They are a bit longer in the way Lonnie Hale feels our Trek heads need to be to account for rising uniform and coat collars. How do they look in uniform?

Also, I just got pics back of the test wig for Romana from Doctor Who and I am VERY happy with the results. The artist said her method is sort of an industry secret, so not made the way a normal wig is. This is actually made into a molded skull cap.

Since this worked, this is the wig maker and method we will use when we make Athena, Sheba, etc

Forgive my stupidity, but who is the young lady being rendered in 1:6? That wig-hat is great!

Put on your red dress, baby, put your wig hat on your head...

Laugh. Thanks! That's Romana from Classic Doctor Who. :)

Ok, I guess I'm wrong again.
I thought their being Dragon sized, they would be "Dragon sized". As to how the WGP BSG heads look on bodies? I can't say as I haven't gotten the drilled ones to be able to try them out yet. I do have several original Dragon heads on bodies using the Majestic uniforms and they all look fine. And, as the WGP versions are also longer in the neck than the Majestic heads were it just seems they'll be "giraffy"

The wig piece looks great on Romana by the way.

Re: WGP's Classic Battlestar Galactica thread (Dragon sized SB and Apollo heads ready

not sure Romana's clothes are very screen accurate...

Re: WGP's Classic Battlestar Galactica thread (Dragon sized SB and Apollo heads ready

Hair should be perfect for Athena and Sheba given the simple syling. I don't think it would look too Barbieish.

Just thought I would dust this one off to see if there was any news.

Re: WGP's Classic Battlestar Galactica thread (Dragon sized SB and Apollo heads ready

Or maybe any tracking number on the replacement heads?

Re: WGP's Classic Battlestar Galactica thread (Dragon sized SB and Apollo heads ready

Re: WGP's Classic Battlestar Galactica thread (Dragon sized SB and Apollo heads ready

Random updates:
Iron Mans replacement heads shipped out from the UK on 10/22/12.
The few remaining replacements have been made and are supposed to ship out to me this week.

When I get them I will see how the size works as a HT size as well (since you can compare a HT and a Dragon head together and because of the messed up nature of Dragon and HT sizes not being cosistant within their own line, depending on the ones you are holding they can be completely out of scale with each other or the same size).

If the heads will work both ways, the rest of the line will continue on that way at that scale as opposed to the proposed 2 different scales, and we will make the SB V2 with longer hair and Boomer that size (otherwise Apollo and SB will be made at the smaller HT size as planned, and SB V.2 and Boomer.)

I should know when I get them in a week, week and a half then send off for printing not long after.

No updates on the uniforms as the assigned seamstress is still finishing up the Romana costume from Doctor Who which she needs to finish before she begins.

Any news on the heads for people that ordered HT size?

Re: WGP's Classic Battlestar Galactica thread (Dragon sized SB and Apollo heads ready

Wanted to update here.
I got the Galactica heads finally myself to review size. We will be keeping this scale exclusively as mentioned potentially doing earlier since it serves both HT and Dragon well simultainiously, so going forward it will continue to be this size and new heads will be made this size so there will be no need for switching to a different HT only scale, which would be smaller.

To explain to those new to the party, Dragon and Hot Toys heads are not notmally the same size, but can be sometimes because head sizes are not consistantly even between the same company. There is a happy medium where a size works for both.

Knowing this means we will go ahead and more Galactica heads. I will uopdate when I get more of a timeframe but we will work on getting Boomer and a SB with longer hair out within a month or so, then for early 2013 do Athena (bald, with wig).

More info soon. The HT orders will go out when the new Starbuck with longer hair, as planned unless anyone just wants the current version. LMK.

The last replacement drilled heads will be shipping this week to Yodasan and that should be the last of them needed as far as I am aware. If I missed anyone please PM me!

Good to hear Rick. In that case I'm in for Apollo, Starbuck with longer hair, Boomer and Athena. I'd like to see Sheba afterwards and maybe Cassiopeia.
I'm also in for the unis if they are still in the works. Three males, one female brown and blue (command) for Athena.
Can anyone recommend the best HT-scale bodies to get for these? TTs have gotten pretty expensive and I'm hearing there are customs and others that work just as well.

Thanks

Re: WGP's Classic Battlestar Galactica thread (Dragon sized SB and Apollo heads ready

Hey Rick, thanks for the info. When do you think the orders for single Apollo heads might go out?
