Hey guys!

Here is the response I got from Sideshow just now.

Hi Ryan!

The consensus is that the edition number is #98. The factory in some cases has
written their nines that way. It is unusual, but it has been confirmed internally.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you!

I'm kinda bummed, I guess I had got excited that they had shipped me like a production sample but hey, I still love the piece no matter what.

Here he is with Faith and Willow in my first Besta cabinet that I just got over the weekend!

:blissy:blissy:blissy

Very nice. I'm glad (and somewhat surprised) that they confirmed it for you. Cool of them to take time to do that.

They three look great in the Besta. Nice pic! That's where I had mine, so your taste in impeccable. :lecture :D

Thanks man! I will set up a collection thread one day, I think I've finally got enough to start showing it off. :hi5:

I'm looking forward to it! There's a collection thread either on the first or second page of the Whedonville section too, so if you're ever in the mood, throw some up there too.

Well, looks like even Sideshow can't decide which number I got LOL

I tweeted to Sideshow about the weird number last week, and they just responded with this:

@ryanjames06 It means you received #8 out of the 500 edition size :) ~M

Guess I'll never know :doh

:rotfl

So we're back to it being anything. Well, the good news it's one of those numbers....possibly.

It's a great piece (not as good as the Spike imo) but I suspect with a global recession on people are being very careful with what they spend their money on, and these damn things aren't cheap.

Very true. And nowadays, if I get one of these, it's more than likely a gift. It just amazes me though how much the demand fluctuates from month to month, year to year.

I want it! Damn mastercard debt.

Of course, if I did buy it, the same day the payment went through and shipped, the Spike statue would be up for sale.

-EDIT

I see the non-exclusive one is anyway https://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=4489&sku=200142&ref=companion_cross_2001461 But maybe it was never out of stock.

I see Spike is still in-stock. Maybe you're right though and it never went out of stock (regular.)

And poor Angel is still waiting for a home. Do it, Sky! :gah:

I hear you. I've scaled way back, myself. It works out for the best though.

You collect Hot Toys?

No. Way too expensive. But man, they are beautiful. And poseable, but not in that stiff way. They just seem to be the ultimate figures both for display and play.

I was so disapointed there was no Buffy collectibles or Hot Toys Avengers for this spooktacular. The only fun thing this spook was that I was one of the people who could a pre-order in for the dinosauria egg, which I will probably cancel due to shipping fees probably being around 50USD.

I only own two, and couldn't agree more. Great detail, etc. The prices, on the other hand, are starting to creep up.

I'm disappointed with what happened to the Buffy line, in general. Given that the line did fairly well, I'm surprised they dropped it the way they did, especially considering how much they've invested in other lines like Dinosauria, G.I. Joe, etc. At the very least, give the fans a heads-up on what's going on. I've probably submitted a question as to the status of the line 10 times (or so.) And alas, no answer. As much as I love Sideshow, it leaves a 'bad taste' in my mouth.
