Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Agent Phil Coulson

oh ok,since gipetto said he was in all movies, i was curious that phil maybe made an appearance in cap, maybe in a deleted scene or something

They stuck a short film of his on the Cap DVD/Blu-ray. Other than that, I don't recall him being in the cap film.

I think you're being too literal. He was in a a lot of the Marvel movies, but not all. Was he in the second Hulk movie? I still haven't seen that.

Oh. Well that's more than nothing...

I haven't watched it in a while, but Tony Stark made the connective appearance. One of the Coulson film shorts then made a reference to that.

Sorry about that. Bad wording on my part. Just feels like he's been in all the movies I guess :lol

I really like Coulson so I guess I just see him everywhere :lol

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Agent Phil Coulson

Coulson has been in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, Marvel's The Avengers as a supporting character and he has also been the main character in two short films The Consultant and Something Funny Happened On The Way To Thor's Hammer.

Over the past 4 years this guy has been more or less responsible for bringing together The Avengers and in the end of all things it was his sacrifice that united the broken and scattered team and led them to save the world from an alien invasion by the Mad Titan.

Coulson has become one of the highlights of Phase One and will be missed so it's only fitting that he gets his own figure to commemorate his time in the MCU.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Agent Phil Coulson

did phil made an appearance in Captain America? did i miss something here?

Captain America was 70 years before the Avengers, So phil had not even been born yet.

He was in Iron Man, he was in Thor, he was in Avengers. That's quite a bit!

Consider that this means he appeared in 3 successful HT movie lines, and then interacted with Cap in Avengers in a meaningful way. He was no extra. I could see people who just buy Iron Man grabbing him, people who just buy Thor buying him, and then the Avengers fans. He'll do well.

I would pick him over Black Widow, Hawkeye and maybe even Thor.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Agent Phil Coulson

I'm actually glad he is being made too. Not every figure needs to be an eye catching superhero to be a cool figure. Sure he's just a guy in a suit, but that is what his character was too, but you couldn't help but like him. He's easily recognizable in the context with the other figures. He's not one I'd display by himself and expect people to know him, but have him next to Fury or Stark or the gang and anyone that has seen the films ought to get a nice chuckle out of seeing him with the other figures.

I think Hill is just a matter of time now.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Agent Phil Coulson

I dont get it...people beg and plead for hot toys to change things up,and when HT's delivers they're still not happy...

I have been on this board for a few years now and there is only one thing that is for sure. You can't please everyone. Ever. Evver. No matter how great something is, there will always be some one that will come in and start complaining.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Agent Phil Coulson

Very true Robbie.

Me personally, I think avemgers was actually a pretty lame flick and never got why people dug it but I'm happy for those who are into it to get all these figures down to the most minor characters but where it really strikes me in a place that gets me upset is that there were so many lines I wanted desperately that hot toys ruined by focusing on a weak character, or just not finishing like Watchmen who were all more visually interesting all around and they didn't make the main character.

And they've slammed guys in suits more times than I can count and go and make this figure a full release it drives me up a wall with my intolerance level for avengers stuff. (that being said I'm pumped for hulk and will be hard to pass up black widow cause she looks fantastic, which is interesting because I disliked iron man 2, avengers and I'm not a scarlet johansson fan).

Even something like pulp fiction, okay I get it it's 20 years old almost fine, whatever but no James bond stuff, they said inception was too lame because it was a guy in a suit... Took 4 years to do comissioner gordan (man I sound like a Nolan weenie all of a sudden lol.)

It's not the fact that they are making this that gets me upset as much as it is I'm upset over what they are not making.

But then the realist in me realizes that this is the second highest grossing movie of all time and disputing that or whining that it's overrated is a loosing battle so I better whipe my tears pick up my ball and go home.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: Agent Phil Coulson

I hear you on everything.

Notice that it seems everything Howard has gone on record for has been the complete opposite?

As much as I hate going into a thread and reading people _____, I know it sucks to have figures you want, that have been announced, yet to see the light of day.

But I am pumped for Coulson!

:yess:
