I don't see Hemsworth in this at all. Sorry, but this just isn't him. I don't see DiCaprio either, but I don't think you can dismiss as 'blatant BS' the legitimate gripe that this HS doesn't look remotely like the actor it's supposedly representing.

Equally, if you're talking about the list of faces RIDDICK posted, Those are far from the best sculpts HT have ever done. I described them as trash and I stand by that - with one modification. A trash HT sculpt is still almost always better than anyone else's pass at the same subject. But if you compare Prince Dastan to, say, Jack Sparrow DX, Batsuit Begins Bruce Wayne or the Ledger Joker DX, to say it's trash is far from crazy.

Extreme reactions just demonstrate that we are passionate and discerning about this hobby. Is that a bad thing?

I would describe them as trash, BUT most of those are far, far from the best HT has to offer

Yeah, its time to get rid of Kojun. The guy can't sculpt a good likeness to save his life apparently. Failed on Indy and ultra Failed here on Thor.

I sure hope they just rushed these figures to get them up around the time of the movie but will NOT rush the production process and go back and resculpt all of them. If not, they are making a very, very, very poor choice.

Haha just sold my original Thor yesterday!!! Looks like it'll be a while till I can get this to replace him but compared to the original this is gonna OWN!! Oh & I like the headsculpt, I will admit its a bit wrinkly but all & all I approve!

I do think so.
The first one is not photogenic but looks great in hand. And in comparing both versions, I think Avengers Thor looks better so I think in hand, it will look good.
But hopefully, they would still improve it. But even as it is, its a major improvement in all aspects except for the sculpt which is just a tad better than the first version.

I don't know if they'll really do any major changes in the sculpt at this point. I believe a considerable amount of people who buy any Hot Toys figures are dedicated collectors. That being said, they want the Avengers team, in their Avengers outfits. It's easier to sell subpar figures under this premiss, since a good number of collectors will still buy them, just so they can assemble the team on their shelves. I bet that even if the figure turns out exactly like the pictures we've seen so far it will sell out rather quickly and the number of pre-orders won't be all that low. I think that's their standpoint now: even if the figures aren't their best - read: most costly - efforts, they'll still sell. How else can they justify this figure costing $200 at retail and being as short-packed on accessories as it is?

I dunno, shes no stranger to making overly squashed faces either. I'm thinking her Arnie sculpts. A kind of squashedness (!) is a problem I see on this Thor sculpt.

Her T2 T800 was the first HT I bought and think it stands up well even next to the Jack Sparrow DX.

It definitely looks more like who its supposed to be than Thor does but its not perfect either.

I don't know who I'd call the best sculptor at HT. Although the girl who did Sgt.Barnes from Platoon might be my choice. Forgive my ignorance of her name.

Sorry if I missed any intended sarcasm but this is just silly.

Arnie Kim sculpted Indiana, not Kojun and the overall head art was a collaboration of all the lead artists including Yulli. Kojun did RDJ IM which improved pretty much with every new version and of course there's Johnny Depp Jack Sparrow which was a home run IMO.

To say it doesn't look at all like Hemsworth or that it's a perfect likeness of Dicaprio is kind of crazy. Yes, there is room for improvement - but the extreme reactions only make you and this forum look bad.

The Headsculpt is down right awful. This is One of, if not their worst figure. To say this even somewhat resembles Hemsworth is kind of crazy. And if you Say that figures like Dastan, perseus, and indiana jones are some of HT best, then this figure should be the grail of your collection.

It is a good figure, with an improved and movie specific costume and with a head sculpt that looks like a real person. As to whether it looks like Chris Hemsworth is matter of personal opinion.
