I would advise you to go with Sideshow for your order simply due to the shipping costs. BBTS' shipping cost are pegged to USPS which is quite expensive for a large box when shipped internationally. Sideshow's shipping cost which is based on their corporate rates with FedEx are more economical for a large box shipped internationally.

I ordered this but reluctantly due to there not being an edition size. I think Sideshow's new policy of not announcing an edition size is crap. It is practically like having an open edition size. The vast majority of people who want this statue will order it before an ES is even set. I'm no flipper but I do like to adjust my collection from time to time and it's nice being able to get what you pay or even a little more for some statues. The no ES crap eliminates this as there is almost always enough statues to meet the few odd and end buyers that come along months later. For those investment minded collectors it takes some fun out of the hobby.

if you're in this for the investment aspect, then you're in the wrong hobby :dunno

I really don't think it'll be more than 2000-2500.

Look at Tychus findlay, he's going for around 1k on ebay. I think if you wanted to sell Arthas down the line he would of least go for the price you payed for it once sideshow sells out of it.

Man Arthas is looking awesome... i think i may just go and PO this now. Flexpay of 40 a month def not bad

I kind of feel about the same way over the no ES thing. For me, part of the fun is the thrill of the hunt. Snagging that piece. A grail is less a grail when it's so plentiful, for some of us. I can still enjoy stuff that has huge ES or is open ended of course. But, I prize the things that are low ES, like my TMNT set. I've more than once looked at those and thought with some sense of pride, no more than 300 or so people have a complete set of those. Makes them kind of special, and me proud to be one of the few.

It works well for Sideshow and Hot Toys to do this. But, it also makes them less collectibles and more like any other purchase.

I can sympathize with the thoughts raised on Sideshow going cold turkey on providing an ES.

From my perspective it was a hit-or-miss for them when they did announce an ES before the actual orders. For one, it created speculation, and it created a bloated initial frenzy. Unfortunately, like the stock market, that's not something they can use to bank with, so the combination of a TBD ES, and an NRD helps smooth out the speculators.

From my experience, I just go with awesome sculpts, regardless of the ES, and just make sure I get my piece of the action during the release.

I think you guys are misunderstanding this. There WILL be an edition size, it's just sideshow is delaying to announce it nowdays. However a year later once this statue is sold out, it wont make any difference. It will be another soldout statue with a limited edition size of xxx.

Although i absolutely hate this ES TBD sideshow is doing nowdays, it's not THAT big a deal down the road. Now if they did ES: Limited Edition like on the stormtrooper pf then it makes the statue less desirable as it basically means there is no limit, they can make as many as they want for as long as they want.

i think the open es also lets them be more loose with the final amounts instead of stopping at 1000, if there is alot of demand they go for 1500 or even 2000 production.

just wanted to ask what is the highest es number for a higher end ss statue?
