I still struggle with the inconsistency of the games. You can really tell when you're not on the servers which seems to be most of the time. I can shoot someone 3 times with the gnasher to no effect and then they blow me to bits in one shot with theirs just like in Gears 2.

I will say I like the hammer burst a lot more since the buff they gave it.

I thought the game was on servers all the time?

Nope, and if you don't have the new dlc FR pack you'll never play on detected servers.

Not true. If you don't have the Fenix Rising DLC, you can still play on dedicated servers by choosing the "Player's Choice" playlist.

Although there is some speculation that the servers for Quick Matches only run Friday through Sunday while Ranked matches are always on servers. Don't know if that's true.

If you believe that good for you but until today's update only ranked had dedicated.

It's not what I believe, it's what Epic said. So unless they are lying Player's Choice was on Servers for non-DLC players.

Take everything Epic says with a grin of salt.

Example Epic said all hit boxes are the same videos posted by players have proved that to be untrue.

when is the next event?

Now, Valentine's Day. And if you're lucky, you can play Wingman vs Cliffy B and his main squeeze. :lol

Gears 3 Forces of Nature DLC HIts in March, Epic Not Ruling Out Potential of More

Forces of Nature will be the fourth and final content drop for Gears of War 3, Epic has announced. Or will it?

Featuring five maps, a game mode, skins and some fresh cheevos, the DLC is a mixture of the old and new. Of the five maps, two are returning classics; Raven Down from Gears 1 and Jacinto from Gears 2. The other three maps are brand new.

Aftermath is a government park after a tsunami, with floods and quakes hitting as you play. Artillery is set on a military base during a storm, and Cove is a small port populated by the Stranded and thick with fog.

There’s four character skins too, in the form of Commando Dom, Mechanic Baird, Savage Grenadier Elite and Savage Hunter. Seven new weapon skins feature also, unlockable through playing the DLC itself.

Guardian Mode also returns from Gears of War 2.

In addition to this, the DLC also includes Easter Eggs that offer up both Achievements and special new weapons, called Elemental Cleavers. These are hidden around the maps. Achievements are offered for finding them and getting 25 kills with each in Horde or Beast mode. There are 10 new achievements in total, for 250 Gamerscore.

The content is the last of the four scheduled chunks of content for Gears 3 and is part of the game’s Season Pass. Yet Epic is not dismissing the potential of further packs. Speaking to Digital Spy, Epic director Rod Fergusson told Digital Spy, “It’s kind of a ‘never say never’ perspective.”

“We’ve completed the obligation for those with the Season Pass, so it’s really now all about community demand and those sorts of things and what people want. But I mean, it takes a lot of effort to create DLC, and in terms of internal resources and what we’re focused on, that kind of stuff.

“It’s really driven by player demand. If players are dying for it and they want it, then it’s something that we can definitely look at.”

The Forces of Nature DLC hits on Mar 27 for 800 MSP.
