Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Nice way to star the season. Not great but solid the ending though damn! I will say I hope the blond chick gets ate soon.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I've gotta say I was pretty underwhelmed. I loved the first season, but this episode seemed to be a step-down in terms of story and acting. Maybe if it wasn't spread out to a 90 minute premiere, but there seemed to be a lot of 'filler' in this episode. I understand they have to continue the character arcs but the stuff with Lori and Shane feels a little dragged on at this point. Some of the acting was downright bad I thought too, like Rick's opening 'monologue'. The scene in the bathroom with the walker was very cliched too.

I don't know how much of this was Darabont before he got canned, but I definitely am worried where the show is heading without him.

Didn't even feel like it's been a year. It was pretty seamless, personally. Right where they left off in all categories.

As for zombie noses...

WOW! What a kick off to Season 2!! I loved it!

Even though I knew what was going to happen at the end of the episode...it still took me by surprise! :panic:

What would you have liked to see or how would you have made it better? I ask because for me I thought it was top notch. Those first 20 minutes were incredibly tense. While watching the show, the tension level is always high because it seems something bad can happen at any second. Like the tent scene...you could say it was filler but only after the fact. While watching it, you don't know what is going to happen. Sophia could have been in there or a walker. All I know is I am so amped up after watching an episode that I can't fall asleep. :lol

I also wanted to mention that Dale is awesome, and Lori is hot, but 1000x hotter when she talks.

Dale is cool. I am more of an Andrea fan, but I am coming around on Lori (which is progress for me since I hated her character the first 2-3 episodes.) :lol I did like her speech to Carol about going easier on Rick or stepping up and doing it themselves. She was dead on because no one steps up so they don't have to share any of the burden of blame/guilt when something goes wrong.

What I love about this show is that nothing is black and white. It is countless different shades of gray. For example, the conversation between Andrea and Dale about him "saving" her from the CDC. When I watched the season finale last year, I could totally relate to Dale and his actions. I especially loved his line to her that, "you can't just enter someone's life, get them to care about you and then just check out." Real powerful stuff. Then last night when Andrea voiced her side, I could also relate to her anger and frustration at Dale because he did take her choice away from her about how to die. I always ask myself what would I do in a particular situation. In this case, I think I would still act similarly to what Dale did, but there is no clear cut "right" or "wrong" choice. It makes you question and re-evaluate your values, actions, etc. and helps you to broaden your perspective. IMO, this is a sign of a great show.

Loved the premiere. The beginning was intense and the ending was crazy! Can't wait till next Sunday!

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

kinda thought it was a let down for a season debut.:dunno not much happened.

maybe it's that I'm still on the Breaking Bad high from last week.:monkey1
I felt the same way. It was enjoyable enough, and had a few great moments here or there (I personally really liked the part where they opened up that one zombie's stomach), but nothing that felt nearly as rewarding as your typical episode of Breaking Bad. But then, that's probably not a fair comparison.

I thought the episode was pretty awesome. I agree the first 20 minutes were great. The search for Sophia dragged a little but no big deal. I can't wait 'til next week........

I am one of the few that found this ep lacking, from the looks of it. Dunno, it wasnt that intense to me. I will say the Sofia's mom actress is pretty amazing
