Just curious, Mike. Obviously you're a huge GL fan and have been looking forward to this film for quite awhile. You already know a lot of the points they will hit, after seeing the completed movie do you think there is anything at this stage that will make you say 'ok, this film is not very good'?

The movie itself. I absolutely love Mutants, I think they are the best comic book idea ever created, the idea and the execution are pure literary genius. Watching X3 and Wolverine, I thought they were pure and utter crap. I was super excited for both and left the film deflated. I'm not a blind fan by any means, if the film sucks I'll say it. If the film has flaws I'll admit it. If Reynolds doesn't live up to the hype I myself placed behind his casting I'll admit it. I know the majority of the plot points and if they don't do them right I'll definitely point them out. I'm definitely excited to see it and see where all my anticipation ends up but I'll be completely honest either way.

:lol
Well, now I know not to ask in the future.:nana:

Josh and I luv to push each others buttons but I'd be hard pressed to find a better Gears teammate or Halo squadmate for that matter.
:1-1:

Fair enough. :lol

Thats what we do. :lol Ah thanks Rex! I appreciate it. :lol You're not so bad yourself. :duff

Besides I don't yell at you when you steal my kills. :lol

I didn't really think you meant that. Just sayin'. :D

cool :)

like I said, just curious. no implication you would be a blind fan or anything, and you've been fairly positive of what they've shown so far, just wondering what it would take to let down a strong fan of the GL material.

I was going to midnight IMAX...but the bad reviews just make me want to go to the midnight normal theater. I dont feel like spending 23 bucks on a movie that may suck.

I'm still interested. But The critics so far have been spot on this summer. Pirates was awful, and Hangover 2 was just the worst.

So we'll see. I hope I like it. But eh.

Seeing it saturday. Pretty sure it will suck though. Except for the next Batman, I dont see DC doing great movies with their one dimensional heroes.

Why isn't Green Lantern getting the same treatment? The last big budget non-sequel superhero film that was reviewed this poorly was Ang Lee's The Hulk. Did you scoff at the critics and enjoy that one in spite of its poor reviews?

Lee's Hulk wasn't reviewed poorly. The majority of critics liked it. Just sayin'.

Eh? double checks rottentomatoes...

You're right. I must have been looking at the audience rating. Hulk got 62% from critics.

The funny thing with Lee's Hulk is that I just respect it so damn much for daring to be artistically different, to actually be artistic, even if it didn't really work in the end.

$19 bucks?!? HOLY CHIT! :panic: :panic: :panic:

:monkey2

Getting back to the reviews, I'm a weird dude when it comes to the genre flicks (meaning not Oscar stuff like Terms of Endearment).

It really takes a-lot for me to hate a Superhero movie.

My definition of "liked it or loved it" comes down to if I feel the movie is worth owning which translates to repeat viewings.

I don't own nor will ever own Superman III and IV, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin, Catwoman or Elektra.

But when in the mood I enjoy revisiting Daredevil DC, AL Hulk, Blade 3, Ghost Rider, Punisher 1, Punisher WZ and FF4 1 and 2, so I own them which translates to liking them.

GL will either fall into that category or it just may turn out to be one of the greats like BB, TDK, IM, Thor etc, i'll know tomorrow at midnight.

But for me personally, I doubt it will fall into Superman IV territory :lol
