one thing I do know is that hot toys will be pumping out a whole bunch of new predators from this movie.and thats gonna hurt my wallet.from what my source told me theres going to be alot of new predators in this one.

Maybe it will be a Predator Prequel or Predator 1.5 between the 2 movies, hehhehehehe

I always like the idea of the predators being on earth. Im not sure how a 'marines go to predator planet' storyline would work out but its been done before(aliens) and i don't think anyone would ever make it better then cameron did. I do wish they would have contined the storyline on from predator 2 i.e the government angle of it or maybe have arnie play a small role somehow in it now that would be cool.
If its just going to be another special effects bonanza with no storyline or one made up in 2 weeks then they might as well leave the franchise be. Something hollywood has learnt is that you no longer need a storyline to sell a movie you just need good marketing aimed at a lot of 10 year olds and you'll get your money back triple fold. I don't blame people for being negative about this given the last few avp movies. Hollywood doesn't care about storylines anymore just profits.

as long as it isn't Predators vs Another Random Franchise then it's already far better than the AVP movies were.
the concept of AVP is a dumbass idea in the first place. well, except for the games. bring on more of those.

yeah, they have some awesome creations, but the story isn't very enticing right now, i will hold judgment until we get a trailer for this

You'd need to have an absolute idealist epic A-class director, writer and production team and publisher to not make any Alien or Predator film flop in this day. Simply because back in the day, the things you saw in the original films were never seen before - you have yourself a winner when you can successfully merge great directing, design, suspsense and fear of the unfamiliar.
We've seen our fair share of aliens and predators in all sorts of mediums through the decades, it isn't something new for us anymore. And the fact that Hollywood is reproducing classics like Alien, Predator, Robocop and milking Terminator, goes to show that they've run out of good ideas. And if they've run out of ideas, exactly how great can their ideas be for a rehashed franchise? Likely no good.
Gone are the days when visionary filmmakers produced works of art - you can never find another Bladerunner for example. The amount of creative effort that went into that film is just mind boggling. Nowadays, people just wanna make money - they don't give a rat's ass if the film sucks, so long as it brings profit.
And we've got a pansy rating culture these days, which partly has to do with profit as well since the general perception is that a PG-13 rating can garner a higher audience, hence higher earnings. Aliens, predators, robocop and terminators have invaded the children's toy scene... makes sense not to make them PG-13 wouldn't it? Yeah... and that almost always makes films from these horror/sci-fi franchises suck.

I'm going to keep believing this until I see it. I've been too disappointed with the AVP and Salvation movies lately to get my hopes up. They're just making these for the wrong reasons nowadays. They don't have a great story to tell, they just want to milk the cow for we stupid fans who they know will go see it cause it has "Predator" in the title.
Here's hoping though.
