Courteney Cox and David Arquette in Talks for Scream remake You know the film industry has run out of ideas when they’re remaking movies that were made in the 90s! Guess all the 80s flicks have already been taken. The next film to get a reboot is the Scream franchise.

Writer-director Kevin Williamson is currently working on the new trilogy, and apparently he wants a couple of the original characters back. Sorry Neve Campbell, he doesn’t mean you.

But according to EW, Williamson has approached Courteney Cox and her husband David Arquette. No deals have been signed yet, and both sides are reportedly trying to work around Courteney’s new shooting schedule for her show Cougar Town.

Why the hell would do they remake somthing that 1. isnt old. 2. Is still popular and does not need to be screwed up and 3 it makes me maaad!

What's the point of remaking a movie that was a parody of 80's slasher cliches in this day and age? Seems irrelevant.

what's next? turning porno scripts into regular movies?

Well the recent trend in Porn is to parody television shows. They've already come out with Bewitched, Star Trek, Happy Days, Cosby Show, The Office, The Partridge Family with Hell's Kitchen, The Addams Family, Friends and Seinfeld on the way. So Porn is out of ideas as well.

wow...last i heard they were pushing to make part four. guess a remake seemed like a better idea.

This isn't exactly a remake because it includes some original characters, at least unless Gail and Dewey end up in a black hole and go back in time to the early 90s. Its a continuation of sorts because it'll just be a new trilogy moving past Sydney Prescott.

My guess is to either take a new of the reimagining of classic 80s slasher flick which have branded their own cliches in each one that will be completely dated by DVD release or to look inward and poke fun at itself.

Kill Hollywood or give them some ideas ! Crap reboot remake Movies and lame TV shows is all they are able to produce by now.

When I want to watch a good Movie, which I don´t know the ending from the start, I pick up a Asian movie.

Scream wtf ?

I recollect reading online that it is not remake, but a new trilogy (i.e. SCREAM 4, SCREAM 5, & SCREAM 6) with David Arquette and Courtney Cox being the only original cast members confirmed to return. No word if Neve Campbell is going to reprise her role or even cameo.

I think they should leave it at three movies, it was running out of steam by the third anyway.

They should also sack every movie executive in Hollywood and get some fresh faces and fresh ideas out soon, this reboot/remake thing is beyond a joke now.
