It was 1965, and I got a hard head 12" Joe. Army fatigues.

I still have several of my old joes, including the still talking 1967 red headed talking Astronaut.

Question is, how many of you guys stil have your first Joe?? :)
I do :)

Lost a few of them to the sands of time, though. . .actually, this was frequently due to the sands of the sandbox that they fought in.

Still have my first one. He rests here:

That is astonishing that a kid could keep them in as good a shape as those. My Joes are all beat the hell up. I and my buddies really played with them. I don't think any of my original pre-1984 figures still have their crotch.

I've lost all of my Joes, legos, transformers etc because of Katrina. Even though they were in the attic, the water got high enough to where the roof collapsed. I've since re-bought some of them off of ebay.

I always called him "Bazooka", though I guess his real name is Zap. Pretty boring now that I look at him again. :lol My brother got his first the same Christmas and it was Rock n Roll. Like any good youner brother I stole Rock n Roll all the time. He's become my favorite Joe. :)

The thumbs did not last long. I used to love the kevlar helmets.

IIRC, mine sweeper was my second one.

The last ones I bought before my second childhood was Tomax and Xamot 2 pack.

I remember I bought Dialtone and Snake Eyes together. I was hooked from that point on. I miss those days when you only had to worry about toys, instead of money and all the problems that come with being an "adult". lol.

One of my favorite passtimes with RAH was actually making them do wrestling moves. They had so much articulation compared to SW.

Would have happened to my stuff, too, but I had moved my stuff out of my parents house not too long before that (though it was Rita that flooded them out). That ^^^^^ took out a number of my Ninja Turtles, He-Man, and other toys.

I always hated Zap. He looks like he has Downs. :lol

The Grunt/Zap/Grandslam sculpt is probably the worst of the original series. Although Scarlett really ain't to pretty either. It's funny though because some of the stuff they were churning out the following year was pretty sweet.

Pretty sure mine was Flash. I remember palying around with him and using a similarly scaled Lone Ranger fig I had as a bad guy.

My first was the J.U.M.P. flight pack and Grunt. I can still remember picking them up off the shelf. Good times.

Breaker and Shortfuse, followed by Grunt and Flash(a week later). All straight armed...
