oh man, you going way back to the straight arm days. I would have to say either Ranger or that dude with the red vest.

Grunt SA along with a Grunt Halloween mask with a plastic suit :rotfl (that suit got trashed, it ripped in so many places :lol)

Running around with the eyes cut of that mask pretending I was ducking behind couches and fire arm rounds I was the best trooper at age 5. :lol

The jump pad. I didnt see that the figure was sold separately. I was very sad, but my brother and I drilled holes in the back of our Fisher Price guys so we could still play with it. Then the damn store finally got the figures and so my first guy was Snake Eyes!!

1982 Straight Arm Cobra Soldier.
K-mart, for about a buck 29.

I still have most of my 3 3/4 figure collection. Just not army building anymore, that got old.

But the only ones I can remember actually buying were at Sears with my mom in 1985, which is not that bad as I was only 4 years old!

And I do remember throwing a fit in Mytle Beach when I lost my original Barbeque when a rogue wave took him away... I was probably 5, and I had a huge temper tantrum because the stores didnt have anymore barbecues! I got another one through a trade with a friend a few months later.

And my favorite present of all... Came during Christmas 1986 which I remember clear as day, I got the Terrordrome. Such an awesome massive toy for a child, I was in awe. I still remember it vividly, and its a great memory.

I used to take the caps off of the turrets on the terrordrome, and pretend that crayons were the missles coming out of cannons.. Trying to shoot down my Tomahawk. Basically most missions were the joes trying to attack the Terrordrome with the tomahawk. The tomahawk crew almost always contained, Lift Ticket (Pilot), Flint (Co-Pilot warrant officer), Dial Tone (Communications), Life Line (Medic), and Leatherneck and Beachhead (Recon), and Dialtone (Computers).. I never actually realized until right now, that it was a pretty damn good team I assembled as a child.lol They were usually trying to rescue Footloose and Dusty.. Damn... brings back great memories.

I still have every figure and vehicle from my childhood, although severely played with, I still have them. Right next to my very large 25th collection is my terror drome (VERY USED) and my Tomahawk (VERY USED.. no longer flight worthy).

$1.29 wow now they're 10 bucks and 12 bucks. Man wtf. I dont buy any of the new joes.

I was going to say the original 3 3/4" Snake Eyes, but I forgot I actually had some of the old school 12" fuzzy head figures...the one with the raft and vulture (or some bird...). That was a long time ago, wish I had kept them.:(

Although this shot is from wikipedia, it does not matter. This truly was my first G.I. Joe.

If this was not your first G.I. Joe...you are just pretenders.:D

You all want to know what is really freakin' cool? Recently, I found my cardbacks from the very first RAH Joes that I bought in the 80's along with abuncha freakin' comic books. I have to go through those to see if they are my Joe comics.

Packing up stuff I came across my binder with lots of 80's paperwork: toy fliers, package inserts, mail aways ect.
