They should actual game footage towards the end.

Hmm, looks promising but I need to see more before making a final judgement. Found this info. Interesting marketing approach releasing this in installments. If it is good, then it will definitely tide me over until the S3 in Oct.

The Walking Dead video game, like the TV show it's based on, will be a serial experience.

In other words, it will be released in a series of installments, or "episodes." Each episode will be available for $5, and will be distributed through the online distribution channels on the PS3 and Xbox 360, as well as PC and Mac.

In addition, those who want all episodes will be able to buy a $25 season pass.

Until the new TV show season picks up in the fall, eyes will focus on the video game adaptation. The trailer doesn't actually show any gameplay footage, but does demonstrate how well the tone and darkness from the comic book series and TV show are translated to the new medium.

The Walking Dead has gained notoriety for its epic storytelling, and for its ability to tell expand what has become a very traditional pattern for zombie-related action stories.

When it comes to zombie plot lines, they are almost always written to be conveyed in a very finite, time-sensitive context. The story involves a city or town being overcome by zombies, until eventually some top-secret government group is able to come in, nuke the place, and erase any memory of the zombie existence.

In The Walking Dead, though, there is a more realistic depiction of a world that becomes completely overrun by the undead creatures, and showing that such an event is more than something that could be summed up in a 90-minute movie.

Indeed, this is the first time that a zombie invasion has been the subject of a serial drama, and it's opening up the imagination of zombie fans the world over.

The game is being released by Telltale, which gained fame for its masterful video game adaptations of Wallace & Gromit and Back to the Future, which were also released through a series of inexpensive "episodes" that were released over time.

What's so funny? Is it just because Wallace & Gromit and BttF aren't first or third person shooters that they can't be considered "masterful video game adaptations"?

I don't know. I've started playing Telltale's Jurassic Park and there is nothing "masterful" about it. More like they were too cheap to think up an actual game.

Don't know if the game play will be any good but for a $25 season pass, I'll give it a shot.

what the ____ is up with developers and this "season pass" bull____. this isnt a ____ing ski resort, it's a god damn video game.

I think I am going to hold out for the full game collection to be released in a disc format. By then we should see reviews if this is any good or not.

I've ranted against the shooter culture here many, many, MANY, times, so my position on that should be known by now.

It's funny because if you've "played" any Telltale games before, you'd know that they can hardly be considered a game, let alone, being labelled as "masterful".

I don't have any problem with season's passes. For someone like me who's gonna but all the episodes/dlc anyway, it's a way to save a few bucks. You're not alone though, but me personally, I really don't understand why so many people are against season's passes. You don't lose anything by not getting it. It's a bonus.

It really does seem like less of a game and more like a "Choose Your Own Adventure" (if you remember that book series).

I do like the look of it though.
