It wasn't the same costume. Similar but different. And whatever he was wearing was re-tailored Im sure. LOL.

And when Kylo was cutting through him, I immediately thought that it'll be another EPIV throwback with him becoming a force ghost. But thankfully it wasn't.

But is anyone bothered by not having any stormtrooper battles? They made a new helmet yet there's nothing about them in it, except for the BB-8 AT-ST attack.

Once, not so long ago, when someone said "Luke" I pictured a young man with a lightsaber held high over his head like the Hildebrandt painting.

Now, I see a dirty old man sucking on a teet, beard splashed with milk and grinning.

Now that you mention it, it does seem like the Resistance got a lot more screen time, due to the mutiny plot. Time would've been better used on Phasma and a trooper battle. But perhaps they felt it's too stale to go that route.

I was bothered by a lot in this film, but yeah, I miss seeing stormies. If it makes you feel any better, there was very little Stormtrooper action in ESB as well. Just a few scenes at the beginning and end of the film.

A few things that really bothered me

Pretty much all of my complaints about the film align with yours, except I thought the opening dialogue between Poe and Hux was pretty good.

why doesn't the first Order use shields on the dreadnought? He picked apart those cannons way too easy

The no shields thing didn't bother me to be honest, it's a giant ship. But one fighter picking apart 98749812739 cannons was a little much. There should have been a squadron out there with him and it would have been more believable.

Force flying leia scene yielded an audible laughter opening night. Took me right out of the film.

This was my biggest problem with the film. She was basically Superman flying through space. Even the most skilled Jedi/Sith wouldn't have been able to do that, it was a ridiculous scene.

Sad for ackbar to have his death confirmed with an off screen mention. Would have much preferred he taken command after leia and been the one to kamakaze the ship.

I thought this same exact thing. Ackbar is a pretty popular character for a very minor character. That would have been a fantastic ending for him, and it really would have resonated with the fans, especially after Admiral Raddus went down with the ship in Rogue One.

The entire sub plot with the casino, including the horrible maz cameo was just terrible.

So much this. It's like the forgot they had to write Finn into the movie and just came up with some storyline to give him some screen time. The only thing I can possibly thing of that might come out with some relevance was, at the very end, that little kid used the Force to pull the mop to himself, so maybe that's going to be a student of Rey's in the future? But if that's not what happens, the entire casino scene didn't belong in the movie.

Maz cameo was not only dumb, but wasted since we still didn't learn how she got Anakin's lightsaber.


One other gripe of mine, Phasma was SUCH a wasted character. She could have been SO awesome, but after a cool intro in TFA, she was pretty irrelevant the entire movie, then she shows up in TLJ only to die 47 seconds later. What a useless character.

Overall I loved the movie and I can't wait to watch it again, those were just my problems with it.

Leia super "force" power beyond time and space
Pink bubble head with lameass tactical plan but eventually "save the day" due to heroic sacrifice act
Last resistance fighter manage to open the bomb cart
"Nobody Rey" manage to understand even most old and comflex Jedi materials without any proper explanation > lead role
Rose is.... speechless
Kathleen Kennedy is the current head of Lucasfilm

Rose was really a very forgettable character. I was kind of pissed when they suggested that she's still alive. I'm holding out hope that it was a corpse Finn put a blanket over, but I'm doubting it.
