Dang! Did you have the listed sequentially as well? :horror

Yep... I went through my top 15 to 20 of each genre... Gave them a star rating and went from there... It was pretty accurate system for my tastes.. I am sure its a bit outdated now and there would be some additions and a change here or there but it was without question my top 100 :)

Damn, impressive, most impressive. :duff

I hate Top 10 lists. But **** it, here's an attempt at one:

1. Angel Heart (1987) by Alan Parker
2. Apocalypse Now (1979) by Francis Ford Coppola
3. There Will Be Blood (2007) by Paul Thomas Anderson
4. Drive (2011) by Nicolas Winding Refn
5. Chinatown (1974) by Roman Polanski
6. Pulp Fiction (1994) by Quentin Tarantino
7. Heat (1995) by Michael Mann
8. The Ninth Gate (1999) by Roman Polanski
9. The Piano (1993) by Jane Campion
10. The Pope of Greenwich Village (1984) by Stuart Rosenberg

This is not the list of someone who considers Gremlins 2, Last Action Hero, and Howard the Duck to be "criminally underrated masterpieces." Post your real list please. :)

I was not expecting POTC to be in your top 10.

I did have a hard time choosing this over Road Warrior. But yes, I really love the world they created for Sparrow and its sense of adventure and fun. It's got the same sensibilities as Raiders so I find it very appealing. That said, now you have me rethinking my lack of Road Warrior...

So a-dev, I see Indy 3 on your list and no Raiders.

I'm over at Wor-Gar's home can you come over we want to talk with you.

:lol

This (Network) would have made my Top 20.

:duff

You need to move it higher -- Network was so ahead of its time its insane. And its simply the best script ever written (satirical yet true, self-aware yet prophetic).

1 - Batman Returns
2 - Beetlejuice
3 - The Transformers: The Movie
4 - Batman '89
5 - Pee-Wee's Big Adventure
6 - Toy Story 2
7 - Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Ultimate Edition)
8 - Skyfall
9 - Real Steel
10 - It's a Wonderful Life

This list constantly changes because I can never make up my mind. :lol

Honorable Mentions:

Speed Racer
Lord of the Rings (extended trilogy)
X2: X-Men United
10 Cloverfield Lane
Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, Dead Man's Chest & At World's End
Superman III
Big Eyes
Empire Strikes Back
Peter Jackson's King Kong (extended edition)
Spider-Man 1 & 2
Super Mario Bros.
Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone | Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows pt. 2
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
TRON | TRON: Legacy
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Howl's Moving Castle
Spirited Away
Da Dark Knight

Pirates is a fun adventure film with great sets, characters, and a great theme.

Someone made a top 10 favorites movie characters thread a few years ago, and Sparrow is on my top 10 list.

Top ten lists are tough because if you have a definitive favorite, then it almost doesn't matter what's #2 -10.

My "Honest Top 10" isn't very diverse:

Star Wars
The Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
Rogue One
The Fellowship of the Ring
The Two Towers
The Return of the King
Princess Mononoke
Spirited Away
ALIENS

Getting away from the Iron Curtain of SW/LOTR/Miyazaki would include the likes of:

Seven Samurai
Raiders of the Lost Ark
JAWS
Bridge on the River Kwai
Love Actually
Pinocchio
My Neighbor Totoro
ALIEN
Back to the Future
Unforgiven
Bullet in the Head
Lost in Translation
Boyhood
Whale Rider
RoboCop
Before Sunrise
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial
Ex Machina

I find it interesting that when all is said and done there really isn't a lot of room for cbm's in my Top 30.
