Super Deformed AoU!
I think the price on these, will depend on whether they include die-cast components, like the HeroCross figures.. hopefully these will be plastic and less expensive.
I'm excited for Ultron and the Sentries, I'm just hoping that they can actually move...
EDIT - Something was bugging me about the way they positioned Ultron Prime's eyes. I think they're set way too low on his face. Comparing some photos of Ultron, here's a quick photoshop edit I made. I apologize for the amateurish job of the edit but I think it illustrates my main issue with the figure. What do you guys think?
Seriously I don't get it. If you've read enough comics of Ultron one should realize that this is actually a very clever amalgam of Ultron's modern designs. Not only is it a unique design that can stand on its own for the film, but it's actually very reverent towards Ultron's character and personality in the comics. The conversion from the jack o' lantern ant-like visage to a face that resembles a skull is a very thoughtful acknowledgment of Ultron's very human personality and to say that it deviates from his character kind of defeats the whole point of Ultron's developmental process.
Also Transformers, really? Beyond having moving eyes and mouth, I don't ever recall seeing a single Transformer having the same smooth-plated, skull-like visage and curved antennae like Ultron here. In Transformers you could barely tell which parts were which with how their faces were designed. By and large, Ultron looks smooth and majestic in comparison. Heck it's not like Ultron got a complete makeover, the basic shapes and silhouette of his head is still very much Ultron.
And yes, the humanoid face might not be "classic" (ugh), but I'll have you know that Ultron's strongest form in the comics (so far) was very much human-looking. Considering the amount of fun I've had in finally seeing Ultron with a whole range of expressions in the comics, I have no doubt that this design will look utterly outstanding and creepy for the film version, judging simply by Spader's performance in the trailers.
Seriously for me, having been a fan of Ultron for so long it's like hearing people wanting the old skin-tight red/yellow classic Iron Man over his modern designs like the Extremis or Bleeding Edge armor. Yes it's just THAT weird.
You have raised good points on the movie version showing how Ultron's evolved to near-human, but you don't have to "get" what other people are trying to say. Don't overthink other's opinions as you have your own.
Fair enough. Personally I don't mean any offense by what I said and I should probably have mentioned that I was also going off from previous experience of people talking about the new design (truly my bad). That's why I said for me it's more "weird" for me, as I feel more perplexed than any form of irritation. If I came across too strongly in my words I do apologize for that.
I wish I had four hands so I could give this four thumbs down.
Hah some guy has Hulkbuster and IronMan listed on eBay for $179.99 easy, EASY pass on these.
Photoshop edits on these things? Come on lads. Who gives a **** about accuracy on cutesy, munchkin stuff like this.
Hey, the munchkin's nose has to be right, ok!
I'm up for the drones and Hulkbuster.. but without nose tweakage, Ultron may not make the cut.. hope we get some pricing details soon.
It's Ultron so I'm willing to make the exception in wanting him looking awesome even in munchkin form.Photoshop edits on these things? Come on lads. Who gives a **** about accuracy on cutesy, munchkin stuff like this.
If they cost that much, I may be willing to at least pick up Ultron Prime, and maybe (BIG maybe) the Sentries as well.Seeing as Cap is $75 on Ebay, I'm guessing regular price will be $40-50? I'd have to see them in person first but unlikely I'd pay that, even though I do like these.
My Son would love these, but if four of them = a Hot Toy figure, I'd rather invest in one of those for him.

Hot Toys is sad to announce that we won't have many, if any, 1/6 figures ready for immediate purchase when Age of Ultron premieres in May.
We will, however, have a complete line of undersized, poorly-painted, unarticulated, highly-inaccurate and overpriced figures for children/adult collectors who can't wait!
We appreciate your continued financial support!
Spoiler:on a side note I will be purchasing this entire line.....
