I've got the Mcfarlane action figure & Bauer looks like he has some kind of combat boot on:

I only bought that figure last week and I was surprised how damn good the likeness is. It was my first McFarlane purchase since MM7 Robocop. I recommend their two 24 figures to any fan - they're pretty much statues but they look cool.

Yeah, considering the size of it - the sculpt is spot on,for the money it's a cracking statue.

wasn't the McToys' prototype got trashed and burned by keither? I seem to recall that put a delay to those 24 figures.

wasn't the McToys' prototype got trashed and burned by keither? I seem to recall that put a delay to those 24 figures.

Yeah. He didn't realize it was THE proto when they sent it for approval so he took it out with his buddies and they "tortured" Jack Bauer all night.

BTW, what season is this bauer based on?

Season 4, Episodes 5 and 6 -- Jack rescues Audrey and Heller from captivity.

The getup also looks similar to one he wore in Season 2 -- but without the badge on a chain.

I have both McFarlane figures as bookends for my 24 DVD set. Both are good. I'm not sure what Season the 2nd figure comes from though. I actually buy quite a few McFarlane sports figures ... Cowboys and Astros. Jack Bauers are the only non-sport MF figures I've got.

The other guy is right, he is wearing combat boots on the McFarlane figure (actually, they look just like the Sketchers I'm wearing right now). The Enterbay figure looks like he's wearing dress shoes. Not sure which is accurate.

All the pics so far have been brilliiant, but i have one question: Does/Did Bauer wear shoes ? - i always thought he wore some kind of military style boots !

Actually, if I remember correctly from Season 4, he changed into this getup after being in a suit on Heller's security detail. It is possible he didn't change shoes. I'm still not sure which is accurate, though ... can't find a picture of his feet.

EDIT/ UPDATE --

Believe it or not, this is the best picture I can find. It is from two episodes before the Heller rescue -- but there is no opportunity for a wardrobe change between here and the Heller rescue (though he does lose the jacket somewhere). Jack is far away (he's the one getting in the car), and the image is fuzzy -- but the shape and shinyness of his shoes look more like dress shoes than boots.

I thumbed through the 24 insight book, and there is only one pic that shows Bauer's shoes. The scene takes place later in the season when he tries to prevent Marwan from escaping in a chopper. The picture is taken from the back so you can't really see the details, but one thing is sure, they are VERY shiny! So I'd say regular shoes. The sole doesn't seem very thick either!

the thing about 24 is that the entire show is shot from an eye level perspective to make it seem more realistic. this never really gives us a chance to see the bottom portion of the characters.

You and I must be watching two completely different shows, then. I can't recall one episode of 24, where Bauer's entire body was not shows for at least several times.

Has anybody had any luck in finding a 1/6 season 4 coat that Jack wears? I am not having much luck.

I was also thinking the other day how inappropriate his footwear looked, does anybody know if this is accurate or not. I would think some sort of military boot also

The best thing i can think of is to take fairly standard Dragon/Hot toys BDU top & dye it black, Bauers coat has a military (ish) look to it. As far as footwear goes i think he'd just look a bit more "Bauer" in some kind of combat boot & again Dragon/Hot toys/BBI may fit the bill, I've got plenty of those Military figures so i'll have a root through my loft when jack arrives.

The figure is based on the Season 4 episode when Heller is rescued (12:00pm - 01:00pm). Before that, at the beginning of S4, Jack was dressed with a suit and when changed for this outfit he kept the shoes.

So Enterbay is really the only company that got it accurate, since McFarlane and Medicom figures (that are also based on this moment) were made with boots.

From the pictures that I can find, business shoes are accurate. Bauer was in Heller's security detail during the preceding hours, and was thus wearing a secret-service-style suit. When he changed into the blue longsleeve shirt and kevlar vest, I don't think he changed his pants or shoes.

10 out of 10 for research chaps, but it just kind of looks like he may start tap dancing at any moment !
