Brando is the best at his best, but the worst at his worst.

Unless we’re talking consistency here?

I'm talking about everything.
Who's best at his peak, who's most consistent, who has deepest range...

Best actor : Daniel Day
Most Fun to watch: Gary Oldman
Most iconic Role: Marlon Brando
Plays the same guy over and over very well. Pacino and Dinero

The rest are just decent actors...

I’m not a huge fan of Daniel day Lewis. He certainly is a chameleon and really changes for every part, but I never feel like he’s... how do I say this.. truly ‘alive’ or living within the circumstances of the film. It’s like he’s perfected pretending to be there. But he never makes me feel anything, not menace, not sorrow, not joy, etc.

I agree with xipo on Pacino and De Niro, they’re always the same guy - but they’re still amazing actors, as of the late 90’s anyway. Nicholson falls in this category too, even more so than the other 2 on just playing himself. Still amazing though.

Gary Oldman is a hoot, whatever he’s in. Hopkins too.

Brando brings life that no other can match when he’s at his best. But he’s highly inconsistent.

The others are fine actors, but they don’t belong on a greatest list according to me.

:lol Clint Eastwood does his one note better than anybody.

Wut, no Geoffrey Rush?

OK. De Niro then.

*Lud are you doing a yin thread?

Eastwood was robbed of best actor for Unforgiven, the year the academy gave it to Pacino for trotting out pearlers like "T*ts. Hoo-ha!".

It's the rules. You can't win Best Actor over another guy playing a disabled role.

Speaking of Oscar robberies, wut, no Russell Crowe?
