Gearbox held a press event last week for the gaming press. They got some playtime with it. Previews, videos and screenshots are now up.

This actually looks really promising. Watching this closely. They seem to really respect the material.

I still have high hopes for this game. Being a HUGE fan of ALIENS and the U.S.C.M. I hope they finally get it right with this game!

I have high hopes but low expectations.

To my mind there hasn't been a great Aliens game since the original PC AvP game and it's first sequel back in the late 90's/early 00's. Everything since has been average at best, and some were downright terrible.

Please be good...

This is the best way to do it IMO. Hopefully they won't leave us hanging with a terrible game.

I still have those games!!! I need to dig them out of the closet someday. I think I'm one of the 5 or 6 people that enjoyed the latest AVP game, but I'll admit it was pretty craptastic. My favorite part of that entire game is the Nightmare mode. Finishing a level on that difficulty is pretty impressive IMO.

Dear Lord, especially as the human...Never wanted to throw a controller so bad in my life.

I finished it easy enough as the Predator on nightmare. The human was bull____

No kidding. I repeated so many missions. Especially the first one....made it to the very end where you're sprinting to the end when an Alien's acid blood killed me when I ran over it. :thud:

I think I may buy that game later this summer just to finally complete it on Nightmare.

I think the lackluster response and below average result that was the newer Aliens vs. Predator left a bad taste in gamers' and SEGA's (publisher) mouth. Because it seemed after that game came out that the rumors about Colonial Marines being canned or "on hiatus" came out. So sad too considering the REBELLION (recent AVP game developed) also made the first PC AVP game. Guess they've lost their stride since then.

I'm guessing SEGA possibly "re-assessed" Colonial Marines and are trying to get the best possible product out of the license, especially considering the hype around PROMETHEUS and bringing the franchise back into a positive light I think it's very critical for SEGA to make sure that GEARBOX puts out an awesome product in Colonial Marines. It can really make or break the license for the next couple of years...

WTF. Ridiculous. Sounds like a similar situation to duke nukem forever. Look how that turned out.

SERIOUSLY? Wow, I couldn't be more disappointed. God damnit.

Fall 2012 would have been the absolute perfect release date for me...daaaaamnit.

And what the hell? I'm pretty sure I still have a Game Informer magazine from 2007 that has Aliens: Colonial Marines on the cover with a 2009 release date.

How could they get two trailers out, show all of these demos and behind the scenes stuff..and then have to push it back another 5-6 months from the release date which is already 4-6 months away?

:thud:
